Barstow Residents Warned to Stay Clear of Drinking Water

(BARSTOW, Calif.) - Salem-News.com A Drinking Water Advisory issued by the Golden State Water Company warns residents in Barstow and surrounding areas to not consume any ice, water, beverages or forumla prepared with tap water.

Barstow is the home of a Marine Corps base. It joins Camp Lejeune and MCAS El Toro as a contamination site capable of causing great illness or death to those who exist near it.

(Newberg, Oregon) - George Fox University Logo George Fox University’s engineering degree program will host its annual engine competition early next month, when freshmen students showcase the projects they have built as part of their engineering major.

The university’s seventh annual “Wobble-Off” competition is scheduled from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the Ron Gregory Atrium in the Edwards-Holman Science Center on the school’s Newberg, Ore., campus.

Woman Injured in Aloha Fire Succumbs to Injuries

(ALOHA, Ore.) - Ladder to window in burned home Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue is saddened to report that a woman rescued from a burning home in Aloha Saturday morning has passed away.

Brenda Ann Mocaer was 47 years old and lived in the home. "Our hearts and thoughts go out to Ms. Mocaer's family," says TVF&R Public Information Officer Brian Barker, "our firefighters got to the home within minutes, quickly searched for and located her and rushed her to an ambulance. Unfortunately, she had been exposed to a lot of smoke in a short period of time."

(ALOHA, Ore.) - Firefighters from Aloha Station 62 clean u Firefighters from Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue's Aloha Station 62 rescued a woman from a burning home this morning. She was quickly transported to Legacy Emmanuel Hospital with life threatening injuries.

A neighbor called 911 at 9:44 Saturday morning reporting smoke and flames coming from a two story home located at 1756 SW Harvey Way in Aloha.

Marion County Traffic Safety Team Announces Cell Phone Operation

* RESULTS OF OPERATION *

(SALEM, Ore.) - Officer giving a ticket Marion County Traffic Safety Team Deputies issued 39 citations for violation of the Oregon cell phone law during the focused cell phone operation on Friday afternoon. Most of the citations were issued in the area of Lancaster Drive NE and Highway 22.

In addition to the cell phone citations, they also issued 2 citations for speed racing, 6 for driving without a seatbelt, 3 for driving without insurance. Additionally, 3 drivers were issued warnings.

Accidental Shooting in Clark County Residence

(VANCOUVER, Wash.) - Shooting investigation logo This morning at 2:52am Clark County Sheriff Deputies and Vancouver Police responded to an possible suicide/accidental shooting that had just occurred 4200 block of NE 38th Street Vancouver.

Deputies and Officers arrived to find a 25 year old male deceased in a back bedroom. The deceased had a single gun shot wound to the head. The residence was occupied by numerous adults who had been consuming alcohol at the time of the shooting.
