Law Enforcement for Youth is gearing up for the 2010 Shop with a Cop

(Salem, Oregon) - Law Enforcement for Youth Law Enforcement for Youth is gearing up for the 2010 Shop with a Cop. Our Shop with a Cop program provides an opportunity for local youth in need to partner with a law enforcement officer to shop together for a holiday gift. Law Enforcement for Youth provides each youth participant with a $25.00 gift card.

This event is a great opportunity for youth to develop a positive relationship with the law enforcement community. Many of the participants may also be recieving their only holiday present.

(OREGON PRISON SYSTEM) - Prison bars The public citizens of Oregon need to be warned that you can go to jail for saving a child’s life. The Good Samaritan Laws and Oregon laws such as ORS 161.200 DO NOT protect you!!!

Oregon’s “Public servants/paid officials” are more concerned with the money generated with quotas and convictions, than having any moral conscience and upholding the law and finding out the TRUTH and true justice.

Coldest Weather of the Season This Weekend

(SALEM, Ore.) - Pacific Northwest weather radar The coldest weather of the season is expected this weekend and into early next week in the interior valleys of southwest Washington and northwest Oregon and in the western Columbia River Gorge a low pressure system will linger near the coast through the weekend.

This system will draw cold air from the interior to bring the coldest air of the season to the interior valleys and the western columbia river gorge. Snowfall will generally be limited to areas above 1500 feet through the weekend. however areas in the Columbia River Gorge could see snow levels fall to near the surface.

Oregon Public Utility Commission Acknowledges PGE Long Range Energy Plan

The Plan Includes Closing The Boardman Coal-Fired Plant

(SALEM, Ore.) - Boardman coal-fired palnt The Oregon Public Utility Commission has acknowledged Portland General Electric’s (PGE) Integrated Resource Plan (IRP)—a 20-year plan that describes in detail how the utility intends to meet future resource needs with the least cost and risk to customers.

The plan includes closing the Boardman coal-fired plant by the end of 2020 in order to follow Oregon Regional Haze Plan and Oregon Mercury Utility Rule standards.

OSP Traffic Stop Leads to Nearly 23 Lbs. of Marijuana, Arrest of Seattle Man - Interstate 5 South of Roseburg

(ROSEBURG, Ore.) - Nearly 23 pounds of Marijuana seized by OSP An Oregon State Police (OSP) trooper's traffic stop Friday morning south of Roseburg led to the arrest of a Seattle, Washington man after the trooper found nearly 23 pounds of marijuana inside the vehicle. The OSP Drug Enforcement Section is continuing the investigation.

Salem Launches Commercial Lighting Loan Program

Salem-area businesses eligible for low-interest loans from West Coast Bank

(SALEM, Ore.) - Salem Oregon Capitol Photo by Tim King Today, the City of Salem, in partnership with West Coast Bank, launched a new pilot loan program for Salem-area Portland General Electric and Salem Electric commercial customers. Through the new program funded by the City’s Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant, commercial business owners and tenants are eligible to receive incentives of up to 50 percent for lighting improvements and access to a low-interest loan for the remaining costs.

Eligible lighting improvements include adding compact fluorescent lamps, electronic ballasts, and lighting controls (occupancy sensors and dimmers), and typically result in a payback period of between 3-4 years.

Animal Neglect Arrest in Albany

(Albany, Oregon) - Hank 100 lbs underweight On Thursday, at about 11:00 a.m., Albany Police Officers arrested 26-year-old Albany resident Erica Michelle Olsen in connection with an ongoing animal neglect investigation.

Erica Olsen was lodged in the Linn County Jail on a charge of Animal Neglect in the First Degree and an unrelated Linn County warrant charging Fail to Comply.
