(LAS CRUCES, N.M.) - In a room hidden away in the basement floor of a campus building, gut-wrenching images greeted visitors.

A “life-size collage” constructed like a statue projected women’s faces, missing persons posters, death masks and other snapshots of sexual violence. Nearby, a poster of a skeleton and blind-folded girl depicted the “duality” of femicide (also known as feminicide) in the form of a victim coming back to life to give a potential victim advice.

Coast Guard Rescues 2 After Vessel Capsizes Crossing Tillamook Bar

(SEATTLE) - The Coast Guard rescued two people after their fishing vessel capsized crossing the Tillamook, Ore., entrance bar, Sunday.

The 56-foot fishing vessel, Double Eagle, contacted Coast Guard Station Tillamook Bay via VHF radio channel 16, notifying the Coast Guard of its intent to cross the Tillamook Bar at 5:30 p.m.

Fatal Traffic Crash - Highway 395 South of Lakeview

(LAKEVIEW, Ore) - Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers are continuing the investigation into Saturday afternoon's single vehicle fatal traffic crash along Highway 395 about six miles south of Lakeview. The crash resulted in the death of an 82-year old man whose name and residence information is withheld pending next of kin notification.

Serious Injury Traffic Crash Highway 26 East of Sandy

(SANDY, Ore.) - Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers are continuing the investigation into a two-vehicle Friday afternoon serious injury traffic crash on Highway 26 east of Sandy.

According to OSP Trooper Dessa DeForest, on October 1, 2010 at approximately 5:19 p.m. a 2007 Freightliner Sprinter van driven by Anglina Wilson, age 36, from Sandy, was eastbound on Highway 26 at Weber Road near milepost 31 moving from the right lane to the left lane to pass another vehicle.

(VANCOUVER, Wash.) - Vancouver Police were dispatched to the Chase Bank in Cascade Park (13215 SE Mill Plain) at 11:52 am Saturday morning October 2, 2010. The suspect entered the bank carrying a pink bag and presented a demand note, indicating he was heavily armed, had a bomb and wanted cash. The suspect was given an undisclosed amount of cash and he fled the bank. As he exited the bank, he left the pink bag in the entryway, then fled on foot in a SW direction. Witnesses said the suspect was last seen running west from 131st Ave and SE 5th Street. A K9 track was unsuccessful.

(SAN FRANCISCO) - In an audacious display of hypocrisy, President Obama signed an executive order on September 28, 2010, imposing financial sanctions against eight Iranian officials for "serious and sustained human rights abuse" violations committed in the year since Iran's disputed presidential election.

The order freezes any U.S. assets they might own and bars them from receiving a visa to travel to the United States.
