Crashed Truckload of Slimy Hagfish Will be Remembered Always

Last Thursday, Oregon coast travelers learned that when Hagfish become stressed, they secrete a slime. That'll be hard to forget.

(LINCOLN CITY, Ore.) - Oregon hagfish When Oregon State Police and emergency workers responded to a multi-vehicle crash at noon last Thursday, little did they know that there was a slime-fest waiting.

It all began when a 1993 Mitsubishi truck was traveling northbound on US Highway 101 near milepost 131, approaching roadway construction. An ODOT flagger had northbound traffic stopped, but Mr. Tragale was unable to stop the vehicle- or the load he was hauling.

Pesticide News Affects Oregon Cannabis Farmers

(SALEM, Ore.) - Salem-News.com Azatrol Hydro Botanical Insecticide, and Azatrol EC Insecticide are labeled for use on ornamental, food, and feed crops as an insecticide, insect growth regulator and repellent. These products may also be used in the production of cannabis.

ODA’s actions come following an investigation of the product and laboratory analysis that found the presence of the pesticide active ingredients permethrin, bifenthrin, cypermethrin, cyfluthrin, and chlorpyrifos, none of which are listed on either product label.

The way Oregon measures student’s science ability is set for a dramatic change.

(SALEM, Ore.) - school testing The Oregon Assessment of Knowledge and Skills, known as the OAKS, has for some time been the primary way of assessing a student’s abilities in a number of core subjects such as English, science and math.

The new "Smarter Balanced" tests have proved controversial in Oregon since their introduction last year, regarded as unnecessarily difficult and time consuming; some estimates put the average completion time for the exam at around six hours.

Redmond Man Arrested for Road Rage Incident

A motorcyclist suffered the consequences for another man's rage.

(REDMOND, Ore.) - motorcycle crash An arrest has been made in the vehicle vs motorcycle crash on Hwy 97 that occurred yesterday afternoon at milepost 128, near SW Young Avenue.

The motorcyclist, 40-year old Jerome Worley, suffered serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital by Life Flight Air Ambulance.

Fatal Paragliding Accident at Cape Lookout State Park

July began with tragedy at a favorite Oregon State Park.

(TILLAMOOK COUNTY, Ore.) - Cape Lookout Oregon According to the information received, a para-glider had launched from a cliff overlooking the beach and rapidly descended to the rocks below.

Emergency responders were unable to reach the man from the shore. The US Coast Guard launched a helicopter and a motor life boat from the Tillamook Bay Station.

Polk County Man Killed In Highway 99W 3-Vehicle Crash

JULY 3, 2017: Highway 99W was closed for about six hours

(McMINNVILLE, Ore.) - fatal crash A 2003 Pontiac Sunfire was northbound on Highway 99W and was slowing or had stopped to make a left turn onto SW Durham Lane. Behind the Pontiac was a 1993 Ford F250 pickup towing a small utility trailer, which was unable to stop and rear-ended the Pontiac.

The Pontiac was spun into the southbound lane where it was struck broadside by a southbound 2007 Toyota Sequoia. After the collision the Ford left the highway, struck a parked car in a driveway, then a house.
