UPDATED: FBI and Warm Springs Police Ask Public`s Help in Locating Missing & Possibly Endangered 11-year-old

Kaitlyn Stofiel has been located.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - The Warm Springs Police Department located 11-year-old Kaitlyn Stofiel and her father, Thomas Stofiel, a few minutes after 10 this morning. An FBI agent and a Warm Springs detective were driving separately down Highway 26 approximately 25 miles west of the city of Warm Springs when they saw the Stofiels hitchhiking.

Warm Springs transported both back to town. Both Kaitlyn and her father were wet, cold and hungry but otherwise appeared physically uninjured.

Fatal Crash into Santiam Canal on Three Lakes Road

The Canal was dug by hand in the 1870s as a transportation route to move goods from the eastern part of the valley to the "Port of Albany" on the Willamette River.

(ALBANY, Ore.) - Linn County Sheriff Bruce Riley reports that a crash on Three Lakes Road today has resulted in a fatality.

The investigation reveals 20-year old Jonathan Alexzander Houser, from Albany, was the operator and sole occupant of a 2004 Dodge Neon and was traveling south on Three Lakes Road, when for unknown reasons, drove off the roadway.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Northwestern Division (Corps) transferred the human remains known as the Kennewick Man, or the Ancient One, to the Washington State Department of Archaeology and Historic Preservation (Washington) on Friday, Feb. 17 on the condition that the Department then repatriate the human remains to the five Columbia River Plateau tribes.

The transfer took place at the Burke Museum in Seattle, Washington where the remains have been curated since 1998.
