They are common throughout Patagonia, but to us they are rare and special because they introduced us to the Birdmen of El Bolson, Argentina.

(PATAGONIA, Argentina) - When he was approaching his fiftieth year, Hungarian immigrant Andor Kovacs, his wife and his large family of 6 sons and one daughter settled in northern Patagonia.

Here he met Andres Gial, a man ten years his junior who befriended Andor and introduced the family to the natural history of El Bolson Rio Negro Province.

Strong Earthquake Rocks Tajikistan

American-Made Israeli F-16 Jets Pound Gaza

An Israeli military spokesman told Ma'an the strikes targeted "two terrorist tunnels" near the the Gaza-Israel border, which he said were intended for attacks on targets inside Israel.

(BETHLEHEM Ma'an News Agency) - Israel's air force bombed at least two sites in the Gaza Strip shortly after midnight on Saturday, an official said.

The eyewitnesses said Israeli F16 fighter jets targeted an open area east of the Shujayya neighborhood of Gaza City while military tanks launched several artillery shells at the Shujayya and Tuffah neighborhoods simultaneously.

Israel used white phosphorous to start fires and over 1,400 people died while thousands received serious injuries.
