The Reality of Heaven

As captains of our ship on earth we inherit what was begun on earth; memories are key to whether we inherit either a heaven or hell.

Portland Police Investigate Homicide

Detectives and crime scene investigators are still at the scene of the homicide.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Salem-News.com Portland Police Homicide Detectives are investigating a homicide at a residence located in the 4100 Block of Southwest Hamilton.

Detective Mary Wheat with the Portland Police Bureau, says detectives have been at the location most of the day, after a 57-year-old woman was found dead in her home.

Teen Girl Dies in Crash on Highway 18 Near Dayton

The girl's mother was flown by Lifeflight helicopter to Legacy Emanuel Hospital with critical injuries.

(DAYTON, Ore.) - Fatal crash on Highway 18: Police say a 13-year old Dayton-area girl died Tuesday evening when the van operated by her mother was struck by a truck while attempting to cross Highway 18 at SE Ash Street on the west end of Dayton.

Oregon State Police troopers are continuing the investigation into the crash that also critically injured her mother.

Two Year Old Struck and Killed in Parking Lot

A Salem man was arrested later in the night, charged with striking and killing the little girl.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Police say a small child was struck and killed by a vehicle in an apartment parking lot last night at 5:52 p.m. Salem Police Lt. Dave Okada says officers and Salem firefighters were dispatched to 3876 Sunnyview Road NE regarding a child that was struck by a vehicle in the parking lot of the Stoneridge Apartments.

The child, two-year old Erika Rubi Meza was struck by a pickup truck that left the scene after the incident. Due to her injuries, Erika Meza died at the scene.
