Amber Alert Issued for 3 Year Old Texas Boy

The suspect is Mario Romero, an Hispanic male with black hair and brown eyes, 5'7" and 205 pounds.

(DENVER CITY, Tx.) - Mitchell Romero a 3 year old Hispanic male and suspect Mario Romero, an Hispanic male The State of Texas issued the Amber Alert Friday (10-16) after the boy was reportedly abducted by the suspect in Denver City.

Denver City is near the New Mexico-Texas state line, about 30 miles east of the New Mexico town of Lovington. The child's mother was found murdered at the child's home and the suspect is wanted in connection with the murder.

(EUGENE, Ore.) - Oregon soldier on patrol in Kabul, Afghanistan Lane County residents are taking action to stop the Afghanistan war Saturday Oct. 17 at noon. There will be an Afghanistan peace rally at the old Federal Bldg., 7th and Pearl in Eugene. The theme of the rally “Stop the killing: War will not Bring Peace in Afghanistan.”

The speakers will be Eugene Mayor Kitty Piercy, University of Oregon Professor and Pakistan expert Anita Weiss, Rev. Dan Bryant and Jim Schmidt of Veterans for Peace.

A Michigan NPR station is censoring a program announcement.

(FLINT, Mich.) - Alison Weir The local chapter of the nonprofit organization If Americans Knew has been denied the opportunity to air a paid announcement on a Michigan public radio station.

They say Michigan Radio's refusal to air the announcement violates its ethical obligation as a publicly funded station not to censor information.

The vehicle may have been seen in the South Salem area.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Suspect vehicle in Salem, Oregon armed robbery 10-14-09 The Marion County Sheriff's Office and the FBI say they are continuing their investigation into the Robbery of Key Bank that occurred on 10-14-09.

Investigators have received additional information and photos regarding the suspect vehicle, a Mercury Grand Marquis, possibly a 1998-2002 model.
