Colorado Woman Seeks Location of Lost Friend in Salem

(SALEM, Ore.) - Salem-News.com A Colorado woman named Karen Depierre says she is desperately trying to locate a friend whose last known location was Salem, Oregon.

Depierre says her friend, Jeff Dower, is 45-years old. She says she has not heard from him since June 2, 2009, and she has not been able to make contact with him since that time.

(WASHINGTON D.C.) - President Barack Obama This morning, Michelle and I awoke to some surprising and humbling news. At 6:00 a.m., we received word that I'd been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for 2009.

To be honest, I do not feel that I deserve to be in the company of so many of the transformative figures who've been honored by this prize -- men and women who've inspired me and inspired the entire world through their courageous pursuit of peace.

Coast Guard Suspends Search for Missing Fisherman (PHOTOS)

Coast Guard crews and local agencies searched for a 65-year old man who was reported overdue from a fishing trip.

(ASTORIA, Ore.) - An overturned skiff found by the Coast Guard while conducting a search for a missing boater near Nehalem, Ore., Friday, Oct. 9, 2009. The Coast Guard suspended the search for an overdue 65-year-old fisherman who was reported missing in Oregon's Nehalem Bay Friday.

The Coast Guard searched for the fisherman approximately five hours before suspending the search pending any new information that would assist in locating the man.

(MOLALLA, Ore.) - Handicapped marijuana patient being beaten by police I posted the first article Sept. 8, 2009. I was surprised that dozens of others had posted articles from all over the country indicating that Gestapo-like tactics of marijuana police are routine and terribly vicious. Most actions seem to be directed at sick and/or disabled patients. My article attracted a good amount of Web traffic.

Sex Asssault Suspect Photographed on Portland Bus

The Caucasian suspect was seen wearing a white t-shirt and light blue jeans.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Suspect in October 7th sex assault in Portland Police in Portland say a woman was attacked after getting off a Tri-Met bus at the intersection of Southwest Capital Highway and Southwest Sunset Boulevard Wednesday, October 7, at approximately 12:30 a.m.

Detective Mary Wheat with Portland Police, says the male suspect followed the woman off the bus and he continued following her across the street where he attacked the woman and sexually assaulted her.

Missing Oregon Hunter Found Deceased in Rugged Terrain

Dustin Gibson was not prepared for cold nights, and was without his medication.

(POLK COUNTY, Ore.) - Salem-News.com Polk County Sheriff's Office reports that searchers have found the body of 67-year old Dustin Gibson, who is deceased according to searchers on scene.

Mr. Gibson from Logsdon, Oregon was reported missing on October 3, 2009.

He was last seen when he and a friend went hunting earlier that morning, and set off separately in the southwest part of Polk County off Little Grass Mountain Road.

Keizer Woman and Children Escape Apartment Fire (VIDEO)

A smoke alarm rouses a mom and her two small boys during a dangerous apartment fire.

(KEIZER, Ore.) - Keizer, Oregon mom who lost her home to fire Keizer firefighters were called out at 11:46 p.m. Thursday over a report of a fire in an apartment complex on Plymouth Drive NE in Keizer.

Captain Brian Butler says firefighters arriving on scene at 11:50 p.m. called for a second alarm. Fire crews rolling up, "observed fire from the rear of the building on the second floor".
