British Unions Call for Boycott Over Israeli Aggression Against Palestine

"To increase the pressure for an end to the Israeli occupation of Palestinian Territories, and the removal of the separation wall and the illegal settlements, we will support a boycott..." -British TUC

(LONDON) - Palestinian women hurry past IDF soldiers in their occupied nation Trade unions in the United Kingdom are taking a stand against Israeli aggression in the Middle East, by calling for a boycott of goods that originate from the illegal settlements.

Israel continues to build these settlements, generally large apartment buildings, on Palestinian Territory. It is a maddening situation for the people of Palestine who have already been reduced to small parcels of land, heavily guarded by the watchful guns of the Israeli Defense Forces.

Making Your Mark

Like Churchill, we will all leave a mark by which our leadership will be defined.

(CHARLESTON, S.C.) - House of Commons and Churchill One of the highlights of my first trip to England was a tour through the House of Commons in London. My good friend Martin arranged the tour for us. To walk the halls of the House of Commons and take in all of its history was an amazing experience.

Same Sex Marriage - Not

By trying to force religious people to recognize them, gay marriage proponents turned out to be as welcome as ants at a picnic.

(CALGARY, Alberta) - Same sex marriage I’m opposed to gay marriage and same-sex marriage but not for a standard reason.

Opponents of same-sex marriage, argue vehemently that marriage is between a man and a woman. This is true and has been for thousands of years. This is because marriage has been defined as a religious coupling.

I can empathize with those who have been raised in a faith which sanctifies marriage as between a man and a woman. Now you have gay people, about whom many religious people already have very negative feelings, trying to push their way into a religious sacrament.

(HANOVER, Ontario) - Laurence Cherniak and Jack Herer Hemp Icon Jack Herer, author of "The Emperor Wears No Clothes" had a heart attack last weekend at Hempstalk in Portland, Oregon. Jack & his wife Jeannie are friends of Salem-News.com, and we have been covering the event with as much respect as possible over the last few days.

Last Friday, a news organization released an article claiming that Jack had died, when in fact he had not. Moreover, the writer was extremely disrespectful toward Jack. We called the hospital and confirmed that the information was false, and quickly published the fact that Jack was very much alive, and remained in critical condition. It is an honor to receive and publish this response from one of Jack's oldest friends.

Iran`s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad & NBC`s Ann Curry

Is it all about semantics?

(SALEM, Ore.) - Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad Enough is enough. American politicians and newsrooms need to stop being so intent on stating that Iran has a nuclear weapons program, when there is no evidence of it.

The biggest problem is the eternal cultural barrier between the east and west. It cost us dearly during negotiations with Vietnam, and I have seen the problems associated with it first-hand in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Then I saw it last week when NBC's Ann Curry interviewed Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
