Over 100 Atttend Immigration Reform Rally in Bend

Immigration advocates say they want to see a sufficient number of visas allocated to close unlawful migration channels and thereby strengthen border security.

(BEND, Ore.) - Billboard depicting Hispanic farmworkers Today over a hundred supporters of Immigration Reform joined CAUSA, Central Oregon Jobs with Justice and Recursos Para Derechos Humanos at a rally in Bend to call on Congressman Walden to support Comprehensive Immigration Reform legislation this year.

The rally took place during the Central Oregon town hall style TV show "Talk of the Town".

Firefighters Continue Battling Canal Creek Fire, Now at 200 Acres

Several road closures are in effect due to concerns for public and firefighter safety.

(SWEET HOME, Ore.) - Canal Creek Fire The Canal Creek Fire 8 miles southwest of Detroit, Oregon, has grown to 200 acres, according to fire officials on scene. They say the fire has continued to burn in heavy timber through old-growth stands of Douglas Fir.

Trolling Oregon`s Coastline in the Post-Dramamine Era

There’s plenty of bounty off our coast, and my wife would love to have more fish in our freezer.

(NEWPORT, Ore.) - Newport, Oregon Fishing on the ocean has never been my favorite thing. As a kid (and as a young adult) I can clearly remember spending ocean trips leaning over the rail feeding the fish. That exhausting queezy feeling just wasn’t something I looked forward to repeating. However, I also like fresh fish in my freezer, so a compromise had to be made.

My buddy Scott recently organized a tuna trip off the Oregon Coast. This caused me to face my fears head on. I learned that the days of Dramamine are now over, and the new anti-motion sickness drug of choice is called Meclazine.

Immigration Reform: Will Walden Be On Board? (AUDIO)

A rally is scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m. today at Cascades Theatrical Company in Bend.

(BEND, Ore.) - Salem-News.com Oregon 2nd District Congressman Greg Walden will be greeted - and perhaps grilled - today in Bend by a coalition of groups who think he should be doing more to support immigration reform.

His Web site does not mention immigration as an issue, and the Republican has been strictly conservative on that front, voting to build a wall along the southern U.S. border.
