18-Year Old Male Pulled from the Molalla River and Airlifted to OHSU

The victim was airlifted by Lifeflight to OHSU. He was listed as serious but stable by Paramedics.
(CANBY, Ore.) -
Canby Fire was dispatched to an unknown medical incident on S. Railroad, in the City of Barlow, today at approximately 3:39 p.m.
Information given to rescuers enroute advised that an 18-year old male had been pulled from the Molalla River, and was being transported via ATV to the listed address, which was approximately 1/4 mile from where the situation occurred, according to Canby Fire Spokesman Troy Buzalski.

TRAFFIC MOVING After Six Vehicle Crash on Highway 20 Near Albany

Traffic is again flowing on Highway 20, but the southbound lanes of I-5 are blocked from another crash.
(ALBANY, Ore.) -
Oregon highway department officials in the Willamette Valley say the road has been cleared after a head-on collision has closed US Highway 20 at mile post 4 earlier today.
US Highway 20 has now reopened between mileposts 4 and 5 after a head-on collision. Officials say drivers should expect some delays while traffic flows return to normal.

Death Investigation on Interstate 5 south of Canyonville

Police believe the man was a transient.
(CANYONVILLE, Ore.) -
Oregon State Police and the Douglas County Medical Examiner are investigating the death of an unidentified adult male found Friday morning one mile south of Canyonville by ODOT employees.
Police say they found no obvious signs that the deceased man is the victim of a crime. His remains were located about 30 feet from the southbound lanes of Interstate 5.

The current administration has stated that this supplemental will be the last one to include war funding.
(WASHINGTON D.C.) -
Congress has appropriated another $84.8 billion for wars in Iraq and Afghanistan for the remainder of the 2009 fiscal year ending September 30, 2009.
The Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2009, signed into law by President Obama on June 24, 2009, allocates $45.5 billion for war-related actions in Iraq and $39.4 billion to Afghanistan.

Department of Labor releases $57 million to the Oregon Employment Department

Oregon has one of the highest unemployment rates in the country at 12.2 percent. Currently more than 240,000 Oregonians are unemployed with more than 172,000 receiving unemployment insurance benefits.

The U.S. Department of Labor announced today it has certified the release of more than $57 million in unemployment insurance modernization funds to Oregon.
