He bought, for example, a faux lettermen's jacket with sleeves only a slightly different hue from our school colors. Within 48 hours a couple of jocks caught him behind the school, ripped his jacket, gave him a matching set of fat lips, and generally proved themselves to be stereotypical dolts.

Three Arrested as Detectives Raid Hillsboro and North Plains Residences

Police say the investigation dismantled a midlevel Heroin Drug Trafficking Organization that was distributing Heroin throughout the area while carrying firearms.

(HILLSBORO, Ore.) - Items police recovered during the arrest, guns cash drugs Washington County's Tactical Negotiations Team served two separate search warrants this morning at 4:00 a.m. Sgt. Bob Ray with the Washington County Sheriff's Office, says one warrant was served at 3660 NW 313th Avenue in Hillsboro, and another warrant was served at a second residence located at 10037 NW Iron Ridge Place in North Plains.

Legislation Would Help Protect Oregon’s Most Vulnerable in Foster Care

Two bills address standards of care in foster home or residential facilities.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Oregon State Capitol Two bills that address foster care for Oregon children and vulnerable adults passed in the Senate this afternoon. House Bill 3114 addresses issues of overmedication of kids in the foster care system. House Bill 2442 standardizes investigations of misconduct and abuse and increase penalties for long-term care facilities where abuse occurs.

“All session long we’ve been dedicated to looking out for the most vulnerable Oregonians in our state,” said Deputy Senate Majority Leader Laurie Monnes Anderson (D-Gresham).

Wednesday`s Sea of Green in Iran is Confirmed

Iran's so far away, but is the truth about this place even farther away?

(SALEM, Ore.) - Salem-News.com Wednesday Iran will be a "Sea of Green" as protesters take to the streets after several consecutive days of unrest. Protesters organizing the event ask others to come to Baharestan Square in Tehran at 4:00 p.m.

Iranians can apparently move around without a lot of hassle if they aren't wearing the color that represents the Freedom Movement. One person twittered, "Going to Bazaar is safe, just don't wear green."

Yamhill Deputies Arrest Willamina Bank Robbery Suspect (PHOTOS)

The suspect was arrested shortly after the robbery according to police.

(WILLAMINA, Ore.) - Photos of suspect in Willamina, Ore. Bank of America robbery 6-23-09 A bank robbery suspect made it 130 minutes with a wad of cash in his pocket, but gave it up to Deputies when arrested. Yamhill County Sheriff Jack Crabtree said that 33-year old Joshua Cabe Nordman of Sheridan, was taken into custody without incident by his Deputies at 12:57 today.

"Nordman is initially being charged with one count of Second Degree Robbery, a measure 11 offense, which carries with it $150,000 bail".

Police Seek Suspect in Hit and Run Crash Involving Female Motorcyclist

The blond female hit & run suspect is in a black Jeep liberty with unknown Oregon plates, with damage on the right side. The operator of the Jeep Liberty is described as being a female with blond hair.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Hit and run Police say a Hillsboro woman was injured while riding her motorcycle southbound on Interstate -5 near milepost 246 today, after being hit by four door black Jeep Liberty.

Oregon State Police Senior Trooper Peggy Bishop says after the crash, the operator of the Jeep Liberty left the scene of the crash without leaving required information or checking on the welfare of the motorcycle rider. The area of the crash is about six miles south of Salem.

Pump Prices Jump 60 Percent Since Start of 2009

Oregon is 10th most expensive, up from 13th last week.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Gas pump Gas prices continue to climb with Oregon's average for regular unleaded gaining nine cents in the past week to $2.78, while the national average adds five cents to $2.67.

AAA Oregon Public Affairs Director Marie Dodds says, "Oregon's average was $1.75 on Jan 1, 2009, and the national average was $1.62 then. Prices have jumped about 60 percent since the start of the year, which is the largest percentage increase we've seen since the '70s."
