Iran Needs to Separate Church and Government

Reason is spreading in Iran, except among the Islamic base the Ayatollah intends to use to enforce his will against protesters.

Many Catholic priests are guilty too, but for different reasons. But the Grand Ayatollah of Iran will take the cake if he refuses to learn from the lessons of history.

Roman Catholicism is replete with examples of extremism that the Ayatollah seems determined to repeat; namely, to assume he is infallible, especially when his conduct is so transparent. American Evangelists are no less guilty, as has been proven time and time again by conduct contrary to Logic.

MDA Cancels Remainder of Nationwide Summer Camp Program Over Swine Flu

MDA mobilized its entire staff nationwide today to notify family members and volunteer counselors concerning the decision to cancel the camps.

Death of Salem Man Tased & Restrained by Police, Deemed Justified

Grand Jury findings in death of Gregory Rold‏.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Salem-News.com A Marion County Grand Jury unanimously found that Salem Police officers were justified in using physical force while attempting to arrest Gregory Anter Rold on May 23rd 2009. The Grand Jury also unanimously found that the physical force used by the police officers did not cause Mr. Rold's death.

Prosecutor Jodie Bureta says on May 23rd 2009 at approximately 8:01 p.m. officers from the Salem Police Department responded to a trespass complaint at 1251 RoyVonne Avenue SE Apt #5, Salem, Marion County Oregon.

Desktop Raids, a New Policy of Obama Administration comes to Oregon

This week, evidence came to light that a new type of worksite raid has occurred in Oregon.

(SALEM, Ore.) - President Barack Obama An investigation conducted by Pineros y Campesinos Unidos del Noroeste (Northwest Treeplanters and Farmworkers United) PCUN discovered that close to 250 workers were dismissed at a farm in Dalles, Oregon.

According to their report, workers at Maduri Farms were notified in May that they were being terminated due to 'invalid or fraudulent Social Security numbers'.

Salem Police Arrest Man in Coffee Shop Armed Robbery (VIDEO)

(SALEM, Ore.) - police lights Salem Police were called to the scene of an armed robbery Thursday night at Coffee in Motion, on Mission in South Salem. Dennis Keena with Salem Police, says a number of officers responded. "The person involved had a handgun and demanded cash from the clerk."

It took about an hour and a half for police to locate the suspect, Keena said, with the help of a police dog. "We set up a perimeter and used a canine to track the suspect to a house here on Rural."

Two Die in Crash on I-5 Near Creswell (PHOTOS)

Police aren't sure why the driver of a motor home lost control just before 9:00 p.m. last night.

(EUGENE, Ore.) - 5-year old Kailee Coontz died in the I-5 freeway crash last night.  Photo courtesy: Kailee`s family A five-year old girl and an unidentified male were killed Wednesday in a head-on crash on Interstate-5 about 13 miles south of Eugene, near Creswell, Oregon. Oregon State Police Sgt. Daniel Swift says troopers from the Springfield Area Command responded to the head-on traffic collision last night at 8:50 p.m. on southbound I-5 at Mile Post 182.

He says the investigation indicates that that crash happened as a motor home, being driven by 41-year old Stephen Whitaker of Cottage Grove, Oregon was northbound on I-5 in the Creswell area.

With Iran, Think Before You Speak

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) - Iran flag The grass-roots protests that have engulfed Iran since its presidential election last week have grabbed America's attention and captured headlines -- unfortunately, so has the clamor from neoconservatives urging President Obama to denounce the voting as a sham and insert ourselves directly in Iran's unrest.

No less a figure than Senator John McCain, the Republican presidential nominee in 2008, has denounced President Obama's response as "tepid." He has also claimed that "if we are steadfast eventually the Iranian people will prevail."
