Man Reportedly Tries to Abduct 12-Year Old Salem Girl

(SALEM, Ore.) - Salem-News.com Salem-News.com was advised today, along with other Oregon media outlets, of an attempted abduction that actually happened three days ago, involving a 12-year old girl.

Lt. Sheila Lorance with the Marion County Sheriff's Office, says around 3:10 p.m. Sunday, deputies responded to the 4800 block of Cougar Court regarding the report of an attempted abduction.

Oregon Guard`s 41st Brigade Combat Team Mobilizes for Iraq Deployment

The 41st will conduct four mobilization ceremonies the first week in May in preparation for training at Camp Stewart, Georgia, then deployment to Iraq.

(TIGARD, Ore.) - Salem-News.com The ceremonies in Portland, Bend, Eugene, and Medford will give local communities an opportunity to wish the soldiers well as they depart on what is the largest deployment of the Oregon National Guard since World War II.

Nearly 2,700 soldiers from Oregon and five companies of soldiers totaling 700 personnel from Delaware, Massachusetts, Nebraska and New Mexico will spend about two months training followed by ten months in Iraq.

Two Suspects Arrested for Corvallis Armed Robberies

Two Springfield men, both suspects in Corvallis armed robberies, are in custody.

(CORVALLIS, Ore.) - Ferrari and Stechelin Police say last November 2nd, at 10:17 a.m., Corvallis officers responded to a panic alarm from DeDe's All Lottery Games at 1786 NW 9th Street. Weeks later they responded to another armed robbery in Corvallis.

The suspects in both of those incidents have been arrested. One is in custody in Oregon and the other man is in California.

Freddie Mac Acting CEO David Kellermann Found Dead in his Home

The death was an apparent suicide.

(NEW YORK) - David Kellermann The acting CEO of embattled financial giant Freddie Mac (FRE), David Kellermann, was found dead at his home early Wednesday, police in Fairfax County police in New York.

An officer named Shelley Broderick with Fairfax PD, said Mr. Kellermann's body was found after a call that was placed at 4:48 a.m. She added that there were no apparent signs indicating foul play.

Child was found safely.

(HINES, Ore.) - 27-year old Myranda Elaine Denny On April 22, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. an AMBER ALERT was issued in Oregon to help find 5-year old Masson Weller, a white juvenile male, 3'8" tall, weighing approximately 45 pounds, with sandy brown hair and blue eyes.

He was taken at approximately 8:30 a.m. from foster care wearing a white t-shirt and blue pajama bottoms with no shoes.

One Person Remains Missing in the Clackamas River After Rescue

Clackamas officials say two people were rescued.

(CLACKAMAS, Ore.) - Oregon river A report of a man in the Clackamas River having difficulty came in this afternoon at 4:50 p.m., Detective Jeffrey Green with the Clackamas Sheriff said.

Witnesses reportedly saw a person floating into the area of the rapids and not coming up, near the walking bridge between Gladstone and Oregon City.
