St. Louis Pond is a Great Fishing Experience

Fishing should remain good, and likely get better with the warmer temperatures, warmwater fish are also available here.

(GERVAIS, Ore.) - Photos of St. Louis Pond by Mitch Webb Salem-News.com I recently volunteered at an ODFW Youth Angling event held at St. Louis Ponds in Gervais, Oregon. A search of Tesch Road in Gervais on Internet mappings sites will lead you to an interesting view, especially noticing the shapes of the man made numbered ponds from above.

I was quickly impressed with the grounds and the folks attending the event. It was a real outdoor experience, even though I-5 can be heard near the East end of this St Louis County Park (Marion).

Oregon NORML and Other Marijuana Advocacy Groups Object to Senate Bill

Oregon: Legislature Considers Unnecessary Changes to Medical Marijuana Law - Oppose Senate Bill 388 - Protest Rally Planned for April 20

(SALEM, Ore.) - Oregon State Capitol Monday at 8:00 a.m. the Oregon State Senate Committee on Health Services and Rural Health Policy meets for a work session on SB 388 in HR B at the State Capitol.

Oregon NORML stands opposed to the measure, according to NORML Director Madeline Martinez in Portland. She says this bill would mandate garden inspections as well as decrease the amount of hash and other cannabis mixtures and preparations patients may possess.

Oregon`s a Step Ahead in Greenhouse Gas Game

(SALEM, Ore.) - Greenhouse gases The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has declared greenhouse gases a danger to public health and welfare, something Oregon decided in 2007, adopting its own goals for reducing climate change pollution.

This year, the State Legislature is considering at least a dozen bills, including directing state agencies to come up with detailed plans to meet the goals.

Motorcyclist Seriously Hurt in I-5 Freeway Crash

The man was transported to the hospital by helicopter.

(EUGENE, Ore.) - Crash investigation Police say a Medford-area man was seriously injured Sunday afternoon when his motorcycle collided with a sport utility vehicle southbound Interstate 5 just south of the Brownsville interchange.

After impact, Makin says the motorcycle and rider both fell onto the freeway and traveled nearly 300 feet before coming to a stop on the right southbound shoulder.
