Commercial Skipper Pleads Guilty, Sentenced in Crab Pot Thefts

OSP Fish & Wildlife Division still has about 65 crab pots stored at the OSP Newport office while troopers continue to find their owners.

(NEWPORT, Ore.) - OSP troopers and recovered stolen crab pots In August 2008, OSP Senior Trooper Carla Urbigkeit was contacted by a Newport Bayfront commercial skipper reporting some of his commercial crab pots were being offloaded from a different vessel, the Blue Belle, bringing in pots at the close of the ocean commercial Dungeness crab season.

Four Perish in Crash After SUV Flies From Embankment Near Oakridge (PHOTOS)

Police say the vehicle traveled across the westbound lane and off the north side of the highway where it became airborne as it rolled.

(OAKRIDGE, Ore.) - Fatal crash investigation Oregon State Police troopers, ODOT and local emergency responders are on the scene of a Monday morning quadruple fatal traffic crash on Highway 58 about five miles east of Oakridge.

Police say the victims' names are not being released until next of kin notifications have been completed. The cause of the crash is undetermined.

Salem Firefighters Battle Two-Alarm Fire

No injuries were report at the time of the release.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Photo of fire in Salem Monday on 19th Street SE Salem firefighters responded to a single-story residual structure fire located at 515 19th street SE this morning at 8:39 a.m.

Fire Department Spokesman Bill Holmstron says the first arriving firefighters discovered flames and smoke coming form the residence. Holmstrom says firefighters battled the fire about 15-minutes before they had the fire under control.

Retired Newhall CHP Officer to Speak on 1970 Police Tragedy (PHOTOS)

As California mourns the loss of three Oakland Police officers, an event that claimed even more lives, the "Newhall Incident" will be remembered.

Three Oakland, California Police Officers Killed in the Line of Duty

A fourth officer is reported to be in critical condition, and a fifth officer injured during the shooting was released with minor injuries.

(OAKLAND, Calif.) - File photo of Oakland Motorcycle Officers Three Oakland Police officers were shot to death Saturday in East Oakland. The tragic incident reportedly began at 1:00 p.m. during a traffic stop at 73rd and Hillside in East Oakland.

Two motorcycle officers were shot at the stop, with the gunman fleeing the scene. Other officers closed off the surrounding streets to traffic as dozens of Oakland Police reinforcements arrived.

Candle for Missing Son Burns After Four Years (VIDEO)

Ahren lived in Boise for 33 years, has many friends and associates and owns his own home. He has strong ties to the community and two very beautiful young children.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Ahren Barnard Ahren Barnard vanished from Boise, Idaho on Saturday, December 4th 2004. His mom, Vicki Barnard, says she is holding out hope that someone knows what became of her son who is also a father of two beautiful children.

Ahren vanished when he returned to his home after dropping off his young son at his mother's home for the evening. Ahren had plans that evening and was going to pick up his son the next morning to continue their weekend visitation, his mom explains.

(PASO ROBLES, Calif.) - Afterlife I know from my own experience, and from being told by others (relatives and friends) that deceased, or persons close to death have involved themselves briefly in the lives of the living, often for the purpose of comforting them.

They are not experiences about which one is prone to speak, but neither will they likely ever forget. Often they occur in the recesses of the mind where what occurs is not discernible to others.
