Newberg native Cory Vorisek is employed at Kadel's Auto Body's Beaverton facility.
(BEAVERTON, Ore.) -
Don Braden President and CEO of Kadel's Auto Body announced today that Cory Vorisek has been promoted to Journeyman Body Technician at Kadel's Auto Body Beaverton located on Rose Lane in Beaverton, Oregon.
Vorisek joined Kadel’s Auto Body in March 2005 as a Tear Down Technician after completing the two year Auto Collision Repair Program at Portland Community College.
Alcoholic Beverages Don't Need to Be Target of 'Sin Tax,' Says Group.

After learning that Oregon State Representative Ben Cannon is proposing a huge tax increase on beer, PETA fired off a letter to Cannon urging him instead to propose a 10-cent "sin" tax on every pound of meat sold in grocery stores and restaurants in order to keep beer cheap and Oregonians (and their economy) healthy.
PETA points out that meat is a leading contributor to many of the worst health problems that Oregonians face, including obesity, diabetes, heart disease, and certain types of cancer, and it is the number one cause of climate change.
Egypt has agreed to the establishment of a Mujahedin Khalq Organization (MKO) base in the country as the terrorist group seeks a new home.
(TEHRAN, Iran) -
The MKO, which identifies itself as a Marxist-Islamist guerilla army, has carried out acts of terror against Iranian nationals and officials.
Outlawed in Iran, the group was relocated to Iraq and allegedly assisted former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein in the massacre of thousands of Iraqi civilians in the 1990s.
The media takes a beating for not reporting on the positive aspects of war; it is a notion that most people who have spent time in a combat theater find ridiculous.

A friend sent an email today with a report from a London newspaper, stressing the success the United States is currently experiencing in Iraq, and speculating as to whether Obama would seek to "take credit" for the success.

It was a busy weekend for Coast Guard rescue crews over the weekend in both Oregon and Washington. The story serves as a good reminder of how treacherous NW waters can become, and how frequently the Coast Guard is able to complete lifesaving rescues.
The Coast Guard reports rescuing a 73-year old man near Coos Bay, Oregoln, Sunday. A Coast Guard watchstander at the Coos Bay lookout tower spotted a vessel overturned and a man in the water around 2:15 p.m.

Since the Pakistan Army started its operation against Taliban in 2003 in the Waziristan region, the Taliban have humiliated the 4th largest army of the world, time and time again.
There were a couple of instances in which several hundred Pakistan army troops were captured and traded for Taliban fighters inside Pakistani jails.
Investigators say it appears that the young girl died of homicidal violence.

Police say that on February 22nd at approximately 1:00 a.m., Clark County Sheriff's Deputies were called to a residence in the Hazel Dell area of Clark County on report of a missing 13-year old girl, Alycia D. Nipp of Vancouver.
Sgt. Scott Schanaker with the Clark County Sheriff's Office, says that upon arrival, deputies were told that Alycia had last been seen by family and friends around 5:00 p.m. when she had walked through a field north of the Goodwill on NE 78th Street.
Police say one man followed another for 30 minutes before first trying to get his dog to attack the man, and then punching him after the dog ran away.

An Oregon State Police (OSP) trooper and Linn County deputy were involved in an unusual "road rage" investigation Sunday afternoon involving two men and a pit bull on Interstate 5 south of Albany.
The suspect and his dog were located by the deputy about 16 miles south of the alleged incident location, and the suspect was subsequently cited to appear on a charge of Harassment.
