Lab Tests on Soil Determine Israel Used White Phosphorus on Gazans

Laboratory tests conducted by a Turkish university on Gaza soil have confirmed the use of phosphorus bombs by Israel in the coastal sliver.

(TEHRAN) - White Phosphorus exploding over Gaza Istanbul's Yildiz Technical University conducted the tests on soil transferred by the Association of Human Rights and Solidarity for Oppressed Peoples (MAZLUM-DER).

The tests yielded results confirming the existence of white phosphorus particles in the samples, the daily Vakit reports.

Their emphasis was on the polychlorinated Biphenyls which was just one of some highly toxic substances. They also referred, in passing, that lower downstream was a severely toxic section of river. That should have been included in the story!

The marchers say they will walk in the light of the creator, following the principles of non-violence and respect for all creatures which are common denominators among the Peoples of the Book (ahl al-kitab) who reside in the area, as it is written in their Holy Scriptures of the Qur’an, the Torah, the New Testament, and in other texts.

BPA Outlines Major Transmission Expansion for Pacific Northwest

Economic stimulus package provides capital to help BPA move forward with new transmission line, create jobs.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Bonneville Dam The Bonneville Power Administration has decided to build a major new transmission project - the McNary-John Day 500-kilovolt transmission line.

The $246 million project creates about 700 jobs at its peak. When energized in late 2012, the line will allow BPA to provide transmission service to more than 870 megawatts of energy.

Legislation Advocating for Just Debt Collection Practices Moves Forward

The legislation was passed by Senate Consumer Protection Committee.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Creditor knocking on door Legislation that adds unlawful debt collection practices to the list of offenses that the Attorney General is able to investigate and enforce under the Unlawful Trade Practices Act was passed out of the Senate Consumer Protection and Public Affairs Committee this afternoon.

SB 328 will give the Attorney General the authority to pursue legal action against debt collectors who use unlawful practices.
