Marijuana and Alcohol Use by Children

My own questioning of recent high school graduates indicated about 90% had smoked marijuana and even in religious schools the figure was about 30%.

(MOLALLA, Ore.) - Teens drinking alcohol I thank the Oregonian newspaper for continuing to supply me with stories for my website: Salem-News.com. It is very helpful to me.

On January 25th, 2009 they published an OP-ED “Millenials like to drink…by Lillian R. Mongeau.” about her own friends experience with “the devils own brew”, alcohol.

She writes “teens will experiment (with drugs) and when the dire consequences predicted in (DARE sponsored) health class don’t match up with personal experience, the teen will often conclude that health teachers and their ilk are overreacting”.

The Blood of Christ

Unity through Diversity, with mutual respect for all, will produce better and longer-lasting results than absolute obedience to absolute authority such as the Religious Right and the Evangelical Holy See of the Republican Party.

(PASO ROBLES, Calif.) - Blood of Christ Christianity evolved as a plan by a coterie of Judaic sectarians convinced its philosophy of One God for All Nations should replace Judaism’s One God of the Jewish Nation.

The cult hoped initially to exalt the Jewish God by making him the God of All Nations, a concept unacceptable to Jewish leaders who may have objected to being less than Jehovah's Chosen People. The Cult-concept must have seemed audacious to them at best, and impossible in any event; obviously the Jewish leadership miscalculated.

A Hamster and Some Dead Birds

In addition to the warm happy times, kids realize that LIFE has its harsh moments, its realities...

(AGOURA, Calif.) - Bird cage One of parenting’s biggest challenges is when to protect your kids from “Life” and when to let them learn the truth about it. I experienced this twice, in the past couple of years, in interesting and similar ways…one when it “wasn’t time” and one when it was!

My younger son, when he was 7-years-old, wanted a hamster, after playing at a friend’s house that had several.

Their “Mommy” hamster had just given birth to several baby hamsters and they graciously gave a darling one to my son. Since it was around his birthday, we went to the pet store and bought a nice hamster cage and all the trimmings. I made him promise to clean the cage, once a week, and he agreed.
