Group Urges Americans to Speak Out Against Planned Bush Blanket Pardons

The group says it is extremely important to block the pardons before they can happen.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Bush and Cheney A group called The People's Email Network, is urging Americans to do what they can to stop the Bush Administration from issuing pardons that will absolve Vice-President Dick Cheney and others from future retribution over alleged crimes committed during the presidency.

They say a recent round of pardons from President Bush are just a sign of things to come.

"Pay no attention to the handful of Christmas pardons granted by Bush. This is mere political window dressing to distract from the bumper crop of blanket absolutions, including one for himself, scheduled to be released just before midnight on Jan 19th," the group said.

Marijuana Leveque: 2008

Phillip Leveque has spent his life as a Combat Infantryman, Pharmacologist, Toxicologist and Physician.

(MOLALLA, Ore.) - Jack Herer and Dr. Phil Leveque Some may dislike and shudder at such a name. "Marijuana Leveque". I don’t. I have been called much worse – Quack, Snake oil salesman. In Italy, I’m Dr. Pot, here I'm "most dangerous man in Oregon", etc.

After I saw “REEFER MADNESS” six times – I was forced to do so as a pharmacology instructor in medical school - I had to monitor the class to prevent them from laughing out loud or leaving the room.

Even Judge Francis Young of the DEA said it was the safest drug ever found by man. “REEFER MADNESS”, my foot!

Op Ed: Attack On Unionism
Hurts Worker Right
For Free Association

Bush Auto Pay/Rate Pressure Defies U.S. Tradition.

(EUGENE, Ore.) - Salem-News.com Nothing Bush has perpetrated so far flings dirty sand into the face of the American worker more than his open attack embedded in crisis-forced cooperation to rescue the auto industry.

His projected “rescue” of carmaker corporations profanely proposes politically-motivated wage-bleeding by auto-workers already closely equated with non-unionists at foreign-brand factories in the U.S.

That perpetuates, promotes and extends one of the most damaging, dismaying, and deeply offensive actions ever taken vs honest, open American worker association in unions.

The Silence of Salem

It's this moment in time that makes me feel at home here. This moment that comes at the end of each day as the sun, sets. The sound of silence.

(Salem-News.com) - Traveling throughout Salem everyday, a reporter should always keep his eyes & ears open. With that in mind this reporter took note of the eerie silence as I left the big box store where I work on the east side. Listening for a few moments I heard nothing. No traffic noise, people talking, shopping carts rattling alone or migrating geese.

Battered Mothers Nationwide Lifeline at Risk of Ending

Volunteers are urging concerned citizens to visit the Website and make a donation to keep the Hotline available and working during this critical time of year.

(COLUMBIA, Mo.) - BatteredMothers.org logo After rescuing over 6,000 battered women and their children over past two years, the Battered Mothers Hotline is now in danger of shutting down.

Illness never chooses a convenient time to rear its ugly head – and this time it could herald the end of a service that’s helped over 6,000 battered women across the U.S. escape life-threatening abuse: The Battered Mothers Resource Fund Hotline.

This Hotline is unusual because it connects battered women with those shelters that take both women and their children. Most shelters do not accept children, so mothers who fear for their children's lives as well as their own simply don't leave. They stay with their abuser in hopes of protecting the kids.
