Two Seriously Injured in Crash Near Chemult

The highway was shut down for over an hour, and then opened to one way travel until the roadway was cleared.
(CHEMULT, Ore.) -
Police say two people were injured today, one seriously, Wednesday morning in a collision involving a commercial vehicle and a pickup on Highway 97 near Chemult.
State Police Senior Trooper Roberto Robles says a 2000 Toyota Tacoma pick-up driven by 46-year old Victor Colato of California City, California, was southbound on Highway 97 near milepost 201 when it lost control on the snow / ice covered highway at approximately 10:18 AM.

Arrest Made in Vancouver School Bomb Threat

The devices found at the school were determined to be coincidental and not related to the threat that was made.
(VANCOUVER, Wash.) -
An arrest was made today over the bomb threat at Evergreen High School on December 16th, according to Vancouver Police.
The investigation by the Evergreen High School school resource officer reportedly led to the arrest of a 15-year old male who is an Evergreen School District student.

The U.S. Army has a checkered past when it comes to honesty, and one of the most tragic recent examples is the 2005 death of Private first class LaVena Johnson; an African American honor roll student who set out to serve her country in Iraq, and was sent home to her family in a coffin along with a story about suicide, which her family says did not happen.
The amount of evidence in this case indicating that Miss Johnson met her end through foul play is staggering, astonishing... What has happened to the honor of our armed services? What kind of people are running things? This story clearly begs those questions.

Oregon Trooper Avoids Injury as Semi Smashes Police SUV (PHOTOS)

An out-of-control commercial truck crashes into parked OSP Patrol vehicle on Interstate 84 east of Pendleton.
(PENDLETON, Ore.) -
An unoccupied Oregon State Police patrol vehicle was struck at the scene of a jack-knifed commercial truck Wednesday evening on Interstate 84 east of Pendleton. The freeway was closed for approximately two hours after this incident for removal of multiple vehicles in the area.
Oregon State Police Lieutenant Greg Sherman says that at approximately 7:00 PM, OSP Trooper Trampas McCrae was at the scene of a jack-knifed commercial truck westbound on Interstate 84 near milepost 219 near the bottom of Cabbage Hill.

Road Closures Planned for Tom Tennant Memorial Service

The memorial service for Woodburn Police Captain Tom Tennant will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, December 19th 2008 at the Salem Armory Auditorium located at the Oregon State Fairgrounds in Salem Oregon. Salem-News.com earlier reported that the memorial took place Tuesday. We apologize for that error.
Prior to the memorial service Friday, a procession will take place from the Woodburn Drag Strip located at 7730 Highway 219 in Woodburn to the Salem Armory at 2329 17th Street NE in Salem.
