Firefighters in Tualatin Battle Heavily Involved House Fire‏

The home suffered heavy damage, however, no damage estimate is available at this time. There were no injuries.

(TUALATIN, Ore.) - Salem-News.com Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue crews were called to a house fire at 22965 SW Riggs Road in Washington County tonight at 7:33 PM.

A news release issued by TVF&R states that on arrival, firefighters found a 2-story, single family residence fully involved with fire in a neighborhood without fire hydrants.

The first arriving crews began fire attack with their on-board water supply, while additional crews worked to set up water shuttle operations. Complicating the work of firefighters were arcing power lines. At 7:48 a second alarm called to bring additional resources to the scene.

Update on Serious Explosion in Woodburn that Injured Police

Isham says a multi-agency investigation involving federal, state, county and city police agencies has begun to identify the person(s) responsible in this tragic incident.

(WOODBURN, Ore.) - Marion County Sheriff badge Law enforcement agencies have descended on Woodburn, Oregon, where an explosion ripped through a bank today seriously injuring three police officers. A bank employee received injuries that are described as minor.

Marion County Sheriff Russ Isham says this morning at approximately 10:32 AM, a Woodburn-area Wells Fargo Bank received a threatening phone call from an unknown person.

"Bank personnel notified Woodburn Police Department and the bank was evacuated while police investigated with the assistance of the FBI and an Oregon State Police bomb technician," Isham said.

Police Find Suspicious Envelope at Oregon Governor`s Office

The evidence was turned over to FBI‏.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Oregon State Capitol Oregon State Police say a suspicious envelope was received by the Governor's office at the Oregon State Capitol Friday afternoon.

The envelope was not opened, according to a news release issued today. Investigators say that as a precaution, about 10 - 15 individuals who were in the area were taken to a separate room.

The envelope was secured, removed from the building for further inspection, and it has been turned over to the FBI who will be the lead investigating agency.

Oregon Guard Troops Return from Afghanistan (PHOTOS)

Oregon Soldiers arrive at Portland International Airport tonight following Afghanistan deployment‏.

(SALEM, Ore.) - An Oregon Army National Guardsmen (left), trains a member of the Afghan National Army Members of the Oregon Army National Guard are scheduled to return to the Portland International Airport at approximately 7:00 PM, following a year-long deployment to Afghanistan.

The Soldiers were part of an Embedded Training Team, which helped train members of the Afghan National Army in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

The unit was commanded by Lt. Col. Keith Ensley. Of the original 17 members, nine were set to return tonight. The others will join them for the demobilization ceremony on December 16th, 2008 at 11:30 AM at the Anderson Readiness Center, located at 3225 State Street, Salem, OR 97309.

Explosive Device Blows Up Seriously Injuring Police in Woodburn (AUDIO)

The device detonated at a Woodburn area bank.

(WOODBURN, Ore.) - Explosion injures police Federal, state, county and local police are beginning an investigation into a Friday afternoon incident that seriously injured police at a Woodburn area bank.

They say that today during the late afternoon hours, Woodburn police, with the assistance of FBI and an Oregon State Police Bomb Technician were investigating a suspicious device at the West Coast Bank on Highway 214 east of Interstate 5.

While officers were in the area the device detonated resulting in serious injuries.
