Salem Police Seek Information in Cab Driver Shooting and Robbery

The suspect, an 18-28 year old Hispanic male adult, 5'10"-6'00" tall, should be considered armed and dangerous, police said.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Salem Police are investigating the shooting and robbery of a cab driver that occurred in the 2200 block of Liberty St NE at approximately 4:20 AM Saturday.

Salem Police Lt Dave Okada says officers were dispatched to a report of a gunshot wound in the 2200 block of Liberty St NE and arrived to find that a cab driver had been shot in the head during an apparent robbery.

Body of Eugene Man Discovered at Surf Line Near Devil`s Punch Bowl

Police are trying to find a man who turned in the victim's cell phone, Ipod, and flashlight to the Inn at Otter Crest's front desk.

(OTTER ROCK, Ore.) - Devils Punchbowl State Park The fully clothed body of a Eugene man was discovered on the beach this morning on the rocks above the surf line at the base of a cliff between the Inn at Otter Crest and Devil's Punch Bowl State Natural Area.

Oregon State Police and the Lincoln County Medical Examiner are completing the investigation into the death. They say a preliminary determination by the medical examiner indicates that the man died from drowning.

Alcohol Related Fatal Crash Under Investigation in Linn County

A LifeFlight helicopter transported the driver of the car to Good Samaritan Hospital in Corvallis.

(LEBANON, Ore.) - Fatal Crash investigation logo Linn County deputies are investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash that occurred last night at about 9:20 PM on Old Santiam Highway, approximately 4 miles east of Lebanon in the Waterloo area.

The Linn County Sheriff Tim Mueller says the driver of the 1994 Buick Le Saber was identified as 47-year old Michael Mullenix of Lebanon. His passenger was identified as his wife, 51-year old Janet M. Long-Mullenix, also of Lebanon.

Oregon Bids Farewell to Another Decorated War Hero (VIDEO)

Jessica Ellis was a highly decorated combat medic who died three weeks after receiving the Purple Heart.

(BAKER CITY, Ore.) - Salem-News.com A soldier who served with honor in the 101st Airborne Division was laid to rest in Oregon and she will be sorely missed by countless family members, loved ones and friends both in Oregon and Iraq.

24-year old Jessica A. Ellis wasn't just a soldier; she was a medic. Her job was keeping people alive in combat and reports indicate that she did it time and time again with valor. She died from injuries resulting from a blast from an improvised explosive device, or I.E.D., that struck her vehicle in Baghdad, Iraq.
