Amber Alert Issued for Three Illinois Children

Anyone with any information on this abduction is asked to call 911.

(CHICAGO, Illinois) - Amber Alert logo The Illinois State Police issued an Amber Alert this afternoon after the children's mother was found murdered in their Chicago home. The three children have not been seen since Friday afternoon, April 18th.

The suspect is Benito O Casanova, white hispanic 32-year old male, 6 foot 1 inches, 230 pounds, with brown hair and brown eye. Police say Casanova's vehicle is a 2002 silver/gray Dodge Dakota with Illinois license 86196HB.

Hillsboro Police Say Internet Meeting Led to Rape and Kidnapping

Police say the woman escaped from the man after he drove her to a store to get a prescription.

(HILLSBORO, Ore.) - Vernon Louis Woodall of Hillsboro is in jail for raping and kidnapping a Washington woman he reportedly met online. A 48-year old Hillsboro man suspected of raping a 20-year old woman he met on the Internet was arrested by police over the weekend. They say Vernon Louis Woodall is in custody on rape and kidnapping charges after he was taken into custody with an arrest warrant.

Lt. Michael Rouches with Hillsboro Police says officers acted on a report by a 20-year old Washougal Washington woman who told them she met Woodall online, and that she had agreed to meet him on April 16th 2008.

Mother and Daughter Die in Crash on Interstate 84

Investigators say they do not know why the woman's vehicle suddenly veered from the roadway.

(ARLINGTON, Ore.) - Double fatal crash near Arlington, Oregon 4-20-08 A Spokane Valley, Washington mother and her 12-year old daughter died, and her 10-year old son received non-life threatening injuries, Sunday afternoon in a single vehicle rollover crash on Interstate 84 about eleven miles east of Arlington.

Oregon State Police Sergeant Julie Wilcox says that at approximately 4:19 PM, a 2000 Subaru Forester station wagon driven by 33-year old Heather Scrum of Spokane Valley, Washington, was eastbound on Interstate 84 at milepost 148.

Driver Dies in Traffic Crash in Rural Washington County

Police say there is no evidence that alcohol or drugs were a factor.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - A 24-year-old woman was killed last night in a traffic crash on SW Scholls Ferry Road, according to Washington County Sheriff's Office investigators. The crash happened shortly after 8:00 PM.

They believe that the woman lost control of her vehicle, and crossed the center line where she was struck by another vehicle traveling the opposite direction.

Police in Oregon Say Man was a `Serial-Type` Killer of Wildlife

The man, who admits he is primarily a vegetarian, says he would usually drive around in the darkness and shoot at deer when their eyes were reflected by his spotlight.

(PRINEVILLE, Ore.) - 60-year old Ronald A. Livermore A Prineville man arrested Friday for numerous wildlife-related crimes in what one trooper described as a "serial-type killing of wildlife."

Oregon State Police Fish & Wildlife Division investigators say that during the past several years north of Prineville, over a dozen deer have been found dead after they were shot and left to waste beside Forest Service Roads.

PAUL, Minn.) - Poverty, Oregon Nearly one-third of Oregonians worry most of the time that their total family income will not be enough to meet their family’s expenses and bills in 2008, bringing the struggle to make ends meet to a very personal level, according to a nationwide survey released today by the Northwest Area Foundation.

Whether due to the depressed housing market, record numbers of home foreclosures, mounting debt or a wavering stock market, more than half of the state’s residents rated the local economy as fair or poor.

Man Dies in Crash on Interstate 84 East of North Powder

Investigators say the driver lost control and spun around before rolling several times.

(NORTH POWDER, Ore.) - Fatal crash near North Powder, Oregon, 4-21-08 Police say an Idaho man died Monday morning after losing control of his pickup in icy, foggy conditions on Interstate 84 about one mile east of North Powder.

Around 6:00 AM this morning, a 1981 Toyota pickup driven by 38-year old James Hardin Slawson of Kuna, Idaho, was westbound on Interstate 84 near milepost 287.

Bradbury was part of a group of 50 individuals chosen to receive intensive training by Gore and a team of renowned scientists about global warming issues.
