Overturned Semi Trailer Blocks Highway 20 Near Newport

Anyone traveling through the area should expect delays and use alternate routes if possible.

(TOLEDO, Ore.) - Oregon State Police say they are on the scene of a non-injury crash involving an overturned semi truck trailer that had been hauling cardboard on Highway 20.

State troopers report that one lane is blocked on Highway 20 about seventeen miles east of the city of Newport on the Oregon coast.

Witnesses report protests at two locations in Khotan prefecture—in Khotan city March 23rd - 24th and Qaraqash county March 23rd, RFA’s Uyghur service reports.

(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - John Prendergast Noted human rights activist and author John Prendergast will give a free public lecture at Oregon State University on Friday, that will examine human rights abuse in Darfur.

His free public talk, “Darfur and Beyond: What We Can Do to Confront the Human Rights Crisis in Africa,” begins at 7:00 p.m. in Austin Auditorium of the LaSells Stewart Center on the OSU campus. The center is located at 26th Street and Western Boulevard in Corvallis.

Oregon Gas and Diesel Prices Fall Slightly

However there are fears that gas and diesel prices could go over $4 a gallon before Memorial Day.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - fuel pump Gas and diesel prices in Oregon are continuing their downward trend. The average price for a gallon of regular unleaded in the state dropped another 3-cents over the past week to $3.40, while average diesel prices fell only a penny to $3.97 a gallon. In Salem, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded is down 3-cents to $3.35.

Analysts fear that average gas prices could vault close to $4 a gallon as Memorial Day (May 26th) approaches, and as refineries make the shift over to more expensive summer-grade fuel.

Aloha Airlines Ends 61-Years of Service to Hawaii

The shutdown of Aloha's passenger operations will affect about 1,900 employees.

(HONOLULU) - Aloha Airlines Aloha Airlines announced today that it will be shutting down its inter-island and transpacific passenger flight operations.

Aloha's last day of operations will be Monday, March 31. Aloha will operate its schedule with the exception of flights from Hawaii to the West Coast and flights from Orange County to Reno and Sacramento, and Oakland to Las Vegas. Code-share partner United Airlines and other airlines are prepared to assist and accommodate Aloha's passengers who have been inconvenienced.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - move over image Reminders to motorists on Oregon roadways are becoming more visible in order to help keep emergency personnel working on the side of the road safer.

As part of an ongoing public awareness campaign, police are stepping up enforcement of the four-year-old state law.
