Coast Guard Airlifts Injured Logger on Oregon Coast

The injured man was transported to a Newport Hospital for treatment.

(NEWPORT, Ore. ) - coast guard helicopter The Coast Guard airlifted a logger who sustained injuries while clearing a tree approximately 15 miles southeast of Newport Beach, Ore., yesterday.

Coast Guard Group North Bend received a request for assistance from the Yachats Fire Department in Yachats, Ore., for an injured logger in the Siuslaw National Forest.

Predatory Sex Offender Sought by Milwaukie Police

Police do not believe he is an immediate danger to the public.

(MILWAUKIE, Ore. ) - Michael James Thompson Milwaukie Police are looking for a predatory sex offender that walked away from a residential treatment facility.

Michael James Thompson left the facility in the 4100 block of SE King Rd. at 5:53 p.m. on Tuesday. He was scheduled to return by 8:00 p.m. the same day. Police are concerned for his safety since he takes medication for health reasons.

The bills will protect consumers from fraudulent mortgage rescue schemes, provide better notice for those facing foreclosure and stronger enforcement for those in the loan industry engaging in dishonest and fraudulent practices.

Salem Police Arrest 10-Year-Old for Phony School Shooting Report

The female student was charged with several crimes and released to her parents.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - salem police car Salem Police arrested a 10-year-old third grade student from Bush Elementary School for calling in a false report of a shooting at the school.

The Willamette Valley Communications Center received a call at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday from somebody claiming to be an eleven year old female, stating that somebody had been shot in the arm while on the playground at Bush Elementary School.

Eve Carson Murder Suspects Now Behind Bars

UNC will remember Eve Carson and celebrate her life in a memorial service at 4 p.m., Tuesday, March 18.

(CHAPEL HILL, NC) - Lawrence Alvin Lovette Jr Durham police have captured the second of two men charged with murder in the shooting death of UNC student body president Eve Carson.

Heavily armed officers surrounded a house just before dawn where 17-year-old Lawrence Alvin Lovette Jr was hiding. He surrendered to the officers without incident. The other charged suspect, 21-year-old Demario James Atwater, was arrested yesterday. Both men have been charged with first degree murder in Carson's death.

Woman Arrested During Raids in Salem, Aumsville

Seized in the raids were two pickups, financial records, vehicle titles, cash and computers.

(AUMSVILLE, Ore. ) - Quonna Bender Linn County Sheriff deputies executed several search warrants in Marion County near Aumsville and Salem yesterday.

Linn County Sheriff Tim Mueller says all items were seized in connection with an investigation of an alleged embezzlement that occurred at Jeff King Construction 30126 Santiam Hwy in Lebanon, by a former employee.
