The Oregon Department of Revenue keeps unclaimed refunds for two years.
(SALEM, Ore.) -
If you’re waiting for a kicker check that never came, it may have been returned to the Oregon Department of Revenue because it couldn’t find you.
The U.S. Postal Service returned 25,000 undeliverable kicker checks to the department. So far, 12,000 of those have been claimed by their rightful owners. The checks total $2.8 million.
This study also says that nearly half of the young African-American women (48%) they polled were infected with an STD, compared to 20% of young white women.

A CDC study released today estimates that one in four (26 percent) young women between the ages of 14 and 19 in the United States – or 3.2 million teenage girls – is infected with at least one of the most common sexually transmitted diseases (human papillomavirus (HPV), chlamydia, herpes simplex virus, and trichomoniasis).
Nearly half of all child deaths included in the studies happened after the age of five.

Children in Asia are at great risk of dying from injuries such as drowning and road accidents according to research by UNICEF and The Alliance for Safe Children.
Surveys from Bangladesh, China, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam reveal that injury is the leading cause of death and disability among children older than one year of age in these countries, with drowning taking the heaviest toll.
Fans should retain their tickets as they will be honored at the rescheduled concerts or ticket refunds will be issued

Seventeen concert dates on the Van Halen tour are being rescheduled so that Eddie Van Halen, who is currently under doctors' care, can continue medical tests to define a course of treatment.
Last week, tour promoter Live Nation said in a statement, "According to Eddie Van Halen's physician, he is undergoing a battery of comprehensive medical tests to determine a defined diagnosis and recommended medical procedures."
In Salem, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded is $3.37, up a whopping 45-cents from one month ago.

Gas prices in Oregon and throughout the U.S. hit all time record highs today, as the price for a barrel oil breifly went over $109 during Tuesday's trading.
The average price for a gallon of regular unleaded in the U.S. is now at $3.22. That's up from 2.95 one month ago, and up 68-cents from one year ago. In Oregon, prices reached an all-time high at $3.42 a gallon, up 6-cents from one week ago.
A .45-caliber semiautomatic pistol was recovered at the scene.
(MOUNT VERNON, Mo.) -
A construction contractor from Oregon was arraigned Monday on charges that he shot and killed an employee Saturday night in their motel room in Mount Vernon.
40-year-old Alan J. Schaedler, from Eugene, is facing charges of second-degree murder in the death of Timothy J. Thornsberry, 36, from Coos Bay.
