Endeavour Ready for Tuesday Morning Launch

The current weather forecast calls for only a 10 percent chance atmospheric conditions will delay the launch of Endeavour.

Man Tries to Rob Woodburn 7-11

Anyone with information on this case is urged to call Woodburn police at 503-982-2345.

(WOODBURN, Ore. ) - police search Woodburn police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man who tried to rob a 7-11 store Sunday night.

Police say the suspect walked in to the store located on North Pacific Highway around 10:30 p.m., showed a knife and tried to rob the store. After exchanging words with a customer, the suspect waved the knife and ran off.

Manhunt for Eve Carson`s Killer(s) Intensifies

A new surveillance camera image released Monday by the Chapel Hill Police Department which shows a man police are calling a 'person of interest' in the slaying of University of North Carolina student body president Eve Carson.

(CHAPEL HILL, NC) - eve carson suspect More than 1,000 people crowded the First United Methodist Church in Eve Carson's hometown of Athens, Georgia, for her funeral on Sunday, while police continued the manhunt for her killer(s). The 22-year-old was found shot to death in a suburban neighborhood not far from the UNC campus at about 5:00 AM. Wednesday.

Chapel Hill Police Chief Brian Curran released ATM photos that show a young man driving a sport utility vehicle possibly using Carson's ATM cards in the Chapel Hill area. Curran said he believes there is a second unidentified male seated in the rear seat in the ATM photo.

China Detains Tibetan Monks Protesting on Key Anniversary

In his own statement marking the anniversary, the Dalai Lama called on the world to press China to allow freedom of expression during the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.

(KATHMANDU) - Kathmandu Chinese authorities in Tibet today detained dozens of Tibetan monks staging a rare protest march on a key anniversary into the regional capital, Lhasa, Radio Free Asia reports.

An authoritative source who declined to be identified told RFA’s Tibetan service as many as 300 monks set out from Drepung monastery outside Lhasa on the roughly 10-km (5-mile) walk into the city center.

Unexpected Collision with Canadian Goose Damages Salem Police Car

Salem Police car struck by flying object.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Smashed police car windshield A Salem Police officer's windshield was shattered Friday night around 11:15 PM. It happened as Officer Jeff Keniston was westbound on State Street near Kettle Court, responding to assist another officer. The impact shattered the passenger side windshield of the police car.

Lt. Dan Deitz with Salem Police says Officer Keniston and a passing motorist immediately stopped to investigate.. What they learned was that the object that hit the police car was a large Canada Goose.

Investigators in Washington Seek Location of 75-Year old Woman

Her green '97 Chevy S10 pickup has a "Proud to be American" bumper sticker on the rear canopy window.

(VANCOUVER, Wash.) - Mrs. Theresa Ann Fleming is missing in the Vancouver, Washington area, she lives in the city`s Sifton area. Deputies in Washington say they are concerned over the location of 75-year old Theresa Ann Fleming, a white female who is five feet tall, weighs 158 pounds, and has blue eyes and gray hair.

Sgt. Steve Shea with the Clark County Sheriff's Office says she lives in the Sifton area north of Vancouver, Washington.

Police Identify 16-Year Old Boy Missing at Gleneden Beach

16-year old Ross Barfuss of Aloha was last seen going into the surf to rescue an 11-year old boy Saturday, at approximately 1:15 PM.

(GLENEDEN BEACH, Ore.) - U.S. Coast Guard rescuer Police in the Oregon coast say the 16-year old from Aloha who attempted to help rescue an 11-year old boy in the heavy surf Saturday afternoon at Gleneden Beach remains missing as of Sunday afternoon.

His next of kin have authorized the release of his personal information and some details of the recovery effort helped today assisted by members of the family's church.

(CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. ) - Space shuttle Endeavour Space shuttle Endeavour’s STS-123 mission is officially set for launch after getting the "go" from NASA's Mission Management Team on Sunday. Liftoff from Kennedy Space Center, Florida, is scheduled for 2:28 a.m. EDT Tuesday.

Over the next few days, Endeavour’s crew will be busy double-checking equipment, rehearsing procedures and looking forward to an exciting trip into space.

Public Invited to Observe Spring Lambing at OSU Sheep Center

More than 180 Polypay and Suffolk ewes are expected to give birth to several hundred lambs in the barn.
