Oregon Police Say Traffic Stop Led to Seizure of 20 Kilos of Cocaine

They say it led to one arrest on Interstate 5 south of Woodburn.

(WOODBURN, Ore.) - Oregon State Police troopers say they arrested a Clackamas man Tuesday after they discovered 20 kilos of cocaine during a traffic stop on Interstate 5 south of Woodburn.

The OSP's Lieutenant Gregg Hastings says the cocaine was hidden in a sport utility vehicle the man was driving northbound on the freeway.

Patrick Swayze Reportedly Near Death from Cancer

Patrick Wayne Swayze was born August 18th, 1952 and his breakthrough role was as the dance instructor in the 1987 film Dirty Dancing.

(LOS ANGELES) - "Dirty Dancing" and "Ghost" star Patrick Swayze has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer that has spread throughout his body and he was given only five more weeks to live, the National Enquirer is reporting.

The 55-year old actor has been fighting the illness since late January and has been receiving radical chemotherapy from Stanford University's advanced cancer center in Palo Alto where he has been flying with his personal plane.

Amber Alert Issued for 3 Georgia Children Considered to be in Extreme Danger

Police say the suspect is 27-year old Eddie Harrington, a black male who stands five foot nine inches and weighs 195 pounds.

(COLUMBUS, Georgia) - An Amber Alert has been issued for three Georgia children who are considered to be in extreme danger. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation issued the Amber Alert on Wednesday morning after the children were apparently abducted late Tuesday.

The first victim is one-year old Agena Battle, a black female with black hair and brown eyes. The second victim is one-year old Aliyah Battle, a black female with black hair and brown eyes. The other child who is missing is three-year old Cedric Harrington, a 3 black male with black hair and brown eyes.

Yamhill City Recorder Charged in Thefts

An investigation was launched after the city mayor noticed funds missing from numerous transactions over the last year.

(MCMINNVILLE, Ore.) - The Recorder for the City of Yamhill has been arrested on charges relating to the theft of over $18,000 in city funds, Yamhill County Sheriff's Office Spokesman Ken Summer Said.

48-year old Sandra Elizabeth Wodarczak of rural Yamhill, was arrested and taken to the Yamhill County Jail on the charges of Aggravated Theft, and Official Misconduct. Summers says Wodarczak has been the City Recorder and City Treasurer since 2000.

Manmade Flood Hits Grand Canyon Today

Scientists are studying the effects of high water flows.

(PAGE, Ariz.) - Secretary of the Interior Dirk Kempthorne will open the jet tubes at Glen Canyon Dam today, that will launch an experiment using high flows from Glen Canyon Dam to study how to improve Colorado River resources in Grand Canyon National Park.

The goal of the experiment is to better understand whether higher flows can be used to rebuild eroded beaches downstream of the dam by moving sand accumulated in the riverbed onto sandbars.
