Three Walk Away from Plane Crash South of Chemult

The pilot didn't know the ground was snow covered.

(CHEMULT, Ore.) - Crashed Cessna near Chemult, Oregon 1-25-08 Three people escaped injured Friday afternoon when the plane they were in flipped onto its top while attempting to land at a small plane landing in Beaver Marsh south of Chemult.

Oregon State Police Sergeant Mark Crisp says that today around 2:20 PM, a Cessna 172 operated by 41-year old William Boyd of Hillsboro, was flying in the area of Crater Lake with two other occupants when he attempted to land at Beaver Marks air landing strip west of Highway 97.

Body Found Near Chicago River Could be Stacy Peterson

CNN reported that a body found may be the missing 23-year old Stacy Peterson. They are not sure at this point.

(SALEM, Ore.) - 41-year old Andrew Bolsinger was arrested on charges of Rape and Sodomy in the 1st degree. Photo: Marion County Sheriff A Phoenix, Oregon man was arrested today at around 5:00 PM by Marion County, 41-year old Andrew Bolsinger was on charges of Rape and Sodomy in the 1st degree.

Jason Myers with the Marion County Sheriff's Office says Bolsinger was also charged with 5 counts of sexual abuse in the second degree and Custodial Interference in the first degree.

Services for Eugene Soldier Set for Sunday

At the request of the family of U.S. Army soldier, Sgt. Eric Everett Rynearson, the following information is being made available.

(EUGENE, Ore.) - Oregon Army Sergeant Eric E. Rynearson An Oregon Army Sergeant named Eric E. Rynearson lost his life in a motorcycle crash in Hawaii on January 19th and his family has released a few details about this soldier who hailed from a family with a history of service in the U.S. Army.

1st Lt. Mark Major with the U.S. Army says the crash occurred when he lost control, went off the roadway and collided into a guardrail. Major says the accident is under investigation.

Dump Truck Drops Hundreds of Pounds of Rocks on Highway

The leaking load struck an OSP patrol car on Highway 99E north of Canby.

(CANBY, Ore.) - Dump truck involved in spill incident in Oregon, 1-25-08 Traffic on Highway 99E north of Canby ground to a halt Friday morning after several hundred pounds of carbon rock spilled from a semi truck trailer and struck an Oregon State Police patrol car traveling in the opposite direction.

The patrol car only received minor damage and the southbound lanes were closed two hours for cleanup, OSP Spokesman Greg Hastings said.

Economic Stimulus Package Leaves Oregon Exposed

Oregon could lose about $90 million in revenue if bonus depreciation is in the stimulus package.

(SILVERTON, Ore.) - Oregon State Capitol by Tim King, Salem-News.com While the tentative deal reached yesterday between the White House and House leaders on an economic stimulus package contains laudable elements, Oregonians should worry because it fails to provide for direct federal aid to states and threatens to reduce Oregon's revenue stream, according to the Oregon Center for Public Policy.

"Oregon would be in a much stronger position to weather a recession if the economic stimulus package shored up key state services," said OCPP policy analyst Janet Bauer. "It would keep state money flowing through the economy, providing a stimulus, and help keep the most vulnerable Oregonians on their feet."

Dangerous California Storm Continues this Weekend (VIDEO)

Oregon weather turns to snow as Californians brace for unusual amounts of rainfall.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Accuweather.com weather maps There is a slight warming pattern underway in our weather system after several consecutive days of cold weather in Salem which saw lows this week dipping into the teens. Temperatures Friday in the capitol city have risen into the low to mid-40's and while today was mostly sunny and chilly, expect increasing clouds and colder conditions tonight as we look toward an overnight low of 28, with a 90% chance of snowfall Saturday.

Expect snow and rain through the weekend, with highs reaching into the upper 30's and low to mid-40's with overnight lows below freezing, but not as cold as the last couple of nights.

14 Cats from Beirut, Lebanon, Now Looking for Homes in Portland

International Feline Adoption Collaboration of the Pixie Project and Cat Adoption Team.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - One of the cats from the war torn nation city of Beirutof Lebanon that have been brought to Portland for adoption. Fourteen feline refuges from Lebanon’s capital city arrived in Portland on Monday, January 21st and are now available for adoption through the Cat Adoption Team and Pixie Project. Abandoned on the streets, rescued from neglect at a pet shop, found in a garbage pail, injured and discarded, Ella, Cookie, Dido, Karel, Bono, Nancy, and the others now have a real chance at finding loving, caring homes.

War and political instability in the region make finding permanent homes for these animals in Beirut extremely challenging. Daily circumstances change and funding evaporates, yet the need to help the animal victims continues.
