One Killed and One Transported in Albany Car Crash

More information on this tragedy will be forthcoming.

( ALBANY, Ore. ) - Albany Oregon fatal car accident A fatal accident involving a car and a pickup happened on Seven Mile Lane, in Albany, just after 7:00 Wednesday evening.

The Albany Fire Dept worked on extrication of the occupants, the Linn County Sheriff and Tangent Fire also responded.

One person was killed, and another transported to the hospital.

Driver Comes Forward Following Bicycle Crash

(CLACKAMAS, Ore.) - The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office is pleased to announce the female driver believed responsible for a collision with her automobile and a bicyclist on Sunday morning has come forward.

Less than four minutes after listening to talk show host "Lars Larson" broadcasting information addressing the unfortunate accident involving bicyclist Howard Dempsey, the father of two teenage daughters, contacted the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office offering pertinent information linked to this regrettable incident.

More to Qualify for Oregon Health Plan as Poverty Line Rises

At its peak, the Oregon Health Plan served 132,000 poor people, its enrollment has fallen to 19,000.

(SILVERTON, Ore.) - City limits sign for Poverty, Oregon The poverty line inched up today with the federal government's release of the 2008 Federal Poverty Income Guidelines, affecting eligibility for a number of federal and state programs such as the Oregon Health Plan.

"The annual increase in the poverty level acknowledges that the rise in the cost of living makes it harder for working families to make ends meet and makes more people eligible for a variety of public benefits," said Michael Leachman, policy analyst with the Oregon Center for Public Policy.

Stormy and Cold Weather Continues on West Coast (VIDEO)

Arctic air is spreading across the Pacific Northwest with only a slight moderating trend later in the weekend into early next week.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Accuweather.com weather map Tonight could see temperatures dropping to as low as 19 degrees in Salem. The capitol city will be one of the colder places in Western Oregon. Portland is expected to stay warmer with a low of 24 degrees tonight.

Tomorrow expect a high temperature of 38 locally, forecasters say it will feel more like 34 degrees though.

400 Pound Washington Man Arrested in Stolen Car Ring

Two Arrested Stolen Car Suspects Possibly Tied to Eight Vehicle Thefts in Oregon & Washington in One Week.

(KLAMATH FALLS, Ore.) - 28-year old Christopher Nicholas Womack 25-year old Natacha Nichole Brister were arrested in Klamath Falls, Oregon on numerous charges. Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers arrested two people west of Klamath Falls Tuesday afternoon who they say may be responsible for the theft of eight vehicles during a one-week period in Oregon and Washington.

OSP Senior Trooper Ryan Niehus says that at 3:40 PM on January 22nd, OSP troopers were set up to intercept and stop a stolen Honda passenger car eastbound on Highway 140W.

A driver who struck a man walking his bike Sunday is not in legal trouble, but police need to hear from her.

(CLACKAMAS, Ore.) - Clackamas Oregon Sheriff`s car Investigators in Clackamas have an unusual situation on their hands, and they need to hear from a driver whose car struck a bicyclist on Sunday.

Jim Strovink with the Clackamas County Sheriff says that just before 11:00 AM, 68-year old Howard Joel Dempsey was walking his bicycle in the intersection of SE Johnson Creek Boulevard and Bell Avenue, when he was struck by an oncoming automobile that had proceeded against the red light.

Gresham Fire Marshall Gus Lian says one of the first things to remember is that you should never utilize area heaters that do not have tip over and temperature limit switches. A 39-year old woman died in an overnight fire that was related to a space heater.

(CLACKAMAS, Ore.) - Oregon shooting suspect Kenneth James Leeper The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office has arrested a shooting suspect believed responsible for the attempted murder incident that occurred Tuesday afternoon on SW 65th, in Tualatin.

Detective Jim Strovink with the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office says that a result of this investigation, his office alerted law enforcement and new sources with suspect information related to this shooting incident.
