E-mails based on political agendas, are causing the facts to be blurred and changing the real picture to one of forcefully mistaken identity.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Senator Barack Obama With less than twenty-four hours before the New Hampshire Primaries are conducted, an old rumor has resurfaced that threatens to confuse uninformed readers.

Formerly posted on rumor filled websites, and only circulated minimally through e-mail, the dirty political rumors of the Internet have returned full scale to combat the serious rise of Barack Obama's chances to be President Elect.

Two Boys Safely Rescued by Coast Guard at Seaside

The two boys, safely hoisted them into the aircraft and transported them to a local airfield where their parents, police and fire officials were waiting.

(SEASIDE, Ore.) - Coast Guard used an HH-60 Jayhawk helicopter The Coast Guard assisted in locating and hoisting two boys to safety at Seaside Monday evening. Two two boys were 13-years old who became lost while hiking in a forest.

A spokesman from Coast Guard Group Astoria says they received a phone call from the Seaside Police Department at 5:47 PM that two 13-year-old boys had gotten lost in the woods behind the Seaside Elementary School in Seaside.

Oregon State University Gets Grant from Irwins to Study Whales

Terri Irwin, who announced the research plans in an interview with Australian journalists, has been a vocal opponent of Japan’s harvesting of whales for scientific data.

(NEWPORT, Ore. ) - Terri and Steve Irwin The Marine Mammal Institute at Oregon State University will begin studies in 2008 in both the southern and northern hemispheres on a variety of whale species to improve information on their habitats and stock identity, which could eliminate the need for killing whales solely for gathering research data.

Funding for the project, which will use high-tech, non-lethal methods, will be provided primarily through grants from Terri Irwin, wife of internationally recognized wildlife advocate Steve Irwin (the “Crocodile Hunter”).

Gates Urges Iran to Disavow Aggressors at Sea

The Iranian boats left after the U.S. Navy ships were preparing to open fire, officials said. No shots were fired.

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) - USS Port Royal U.S. Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates is calling on Iranian leaders to disavow the actions of five high-speed boats that reportedly threatened to blow up three U.S. Navy warships in international waters in the Strait of Hormuz.

Defense officials said five Iranian Revolutionary Guard high-speed craft approached the USS Port Royal, USS Hopper and USS Ingraham as they were entering the Persian Gulf in yesterday morning, maneuvering aggressively, threatening the ships via bridge-to-bridge radio and dropping objects into the water in the general path of one of the ships.

House and Senate Democrats favor helping kids, seniors and homeowners, and they want to beef up the ranks of state troopers. Senate Majority Leader Richard Devlin says he expects the February session to be quick and productive.

Salem Fire Praises Three Citizens for their Assistance

(SALEM, Ore.) - Citizen help Three people came to the aid of a grandmother today after a rollover accident that left her SUV in a ditch at the intersection of Skyline Road and Cole Road South. Firefighters say the efforts of the citizens who stopped to help made a difference.

Salem Fire Department Spokesman Bill Holmstrom says that this is one of several incidents that kept crews moving this morning. Monday morning Salem Fire Department responded to numerous accidents due to the slick road conditions, he said.

Early Morning Crash on Icy Road Severely Injures Teen Girl

Police say this tragic event should be a reminder to motorists to drive with due care, especially during the cold winter months.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Crash investigation A fourteen year old girl sustained life threatening injuries in an early morning vehicle accident on Portland Road NE on the Interstate 5 overpass, police day.

When the crash happened, 14-year old Alma Garcia-Martinez was riding in the rear seat of a 2003 Ford Explorer being driven northbound at about 6:30 AM on Portland Road by her mother, Alma Rosa Olivares-Martinez, according to Lt. Dave Okada with Salem Police.
