New Vehicle Information in Highway 26 Shooting Investigation

Police hope photo of vehicle of interest and suspect composite sketch will lead them to the shooter.

(ZIG ZAG, Ore.) - Photos of the vehicle of interest in the December 10th shooting of two men on Highway 26 in the Zig Zag area have been released by Oregon State Police. Investigators recently released a composite drawing of an unidentified suspect to help develop tips in their ongoing investigation.

A witness described the vehicle of interest behind the victims' van as a dark green early 2000 model Honda Civic. At this time it is not known if the vehicle was a two or four door model, but police believe the driver is the person that shot the two men.

Body Found in Surf Identified as Missing Yachats Man

Police have identified the victim found in the surf near Yachats State Park

(NEWPORT, Ore.) - Oregon State Police and Lincoln County Medical Examiner have positively identify a body found Thursday morning in the surf on the south end of Yachats State Park.

There is no indication of foul play and the medical examiner will determine the cause of death of 40-year old Gary Raymond Wilson of Yachats.

My comments were that ANYONE who volunteers for the armed services should be allowed to serve. Homos (forgive the abbreviation) have been in all armies and all of civilization since time began. Police Attempt to Identify Body Found in the Surf Near Yachats

The body was found near the ocean shore by a person taking a walk at Yachats State Park.

(NEWPORT, Ore.) - A person spotted a body this morning in the surf on the south end of Yachats State Park while walking on the beach at 10:00 AM. Oregon State Police and the Lincoln County Medical Examiner are attempting to positively identify the white male approximately who they say is 35 to 45 years of age.

Police say at this point, there is no indication of foul play and investigators have ruled out the body being that of a 22-year old man missing since falling off a boat December 7th.

Oregon`s Public Health Director Resigns

Filling in for Allan on an interim basis will be Michael Skeels, Ph.D., M.P.H., director of the Oregon Public Health Laboratory.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Susan Allan, J.D., M.D., M.P.H., director of the Oregon Department of Human Services Public Health Division, has announced her resignation effective Feb. 1, 2008.

Allan has served as the state's public health director since March 2005. Prior to joining DHS Allan directed public health services for the Arlington County, Virginia, Department of Human Services. Allan, who is a native of Washington state, is leaving Oregon to join her husband in Seattle.

Information Released in Highway 6 Closure Incident

Police troopers reported that Highway 6 was reopened about 3:00 PM.

(BANKS, ORE.) - Highway 6 reopened Thursday afternoon following a closure that lasted nearly four hours due to a series of non-injury crashes that police blame on poor highway conditions. Police say today around 10:30 AM, a tow truck was removing a commercial vehicle that had lost control and struck a guardrail on Highway 6 near milepost 34.

A bus occupied by its driver and 8 passengers, was attempting to pass a second commercial truck that was chaining up when it slid into it. At least two other commercial trucks approaching the area reportedly jackknifed blocking the highway further.

Up to 2,000 Police Guarding Key Chinese Pylon, Tear Gas Fired

Villagers have accused the police of collaborating with elements of organized crime.

(HONG KONG) - Up to 2,000 police are guarding a key electricity pylon in the southern Chinese village of Dongzhou, and they have fired multiple rounds of tear gas to disperse crowds of protesters, Radio Free Asia reports.

Witnesses told RFA’s Mandarin service that 1,000 more police were sent in December 22nd, in addition to some 1,000 police sent in earlier.
