Oregon Governor Endorses Hillary Clinton for President

The Clinton Campaign today announced the endorsement of Oregon Governor Ted Kulongoski.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Ted Kulongoski and Hillary Clinton "At a critical time in our history, Hillary Clinton has the strength and experience to restore hope and opportunity to working Americans and deliver the change America needs," Kulongoski said. "No one is better equipped to repair the damage of the last seven years and repair our standing in the world."

"Ted has devoted his life to serving the people of Oregon with integrity and distinction," Clinton said.

Video Games and Freedom

I mean seriously... 12 step programs for irresponsible gamers?

(SALEM, Ore.) - Grandpa and granson playing video games Lately the hue and cry is rising again to restrict, control or ban video games. There are the claims that the games foster violence in those who play them. There are those who consider the games 'addictive'. Hogwash!

There is nothing addictive to video games any more than anything else. Weak-willed folks who have other serious character flaws like immaturity or irresponsibility may lack the personal control ability to play games (or do anything else for that matter) in moderation. But that does not make video games 'addictive'.

Tangent Fire Sponsors 1st Annual `Shop with a Firefighter`

Funding for this project has been provided by generous donations to the volunteers, and fund raisers held by the volunteers.

(TANGENT, Ore.) - Tangent, Oregon Shop with a Firefighter Firefighters of Tangent Fire and Rescue sponsored its 1st annual “Shop with a Firefighter” program. Firefighters within the Fire Department volunteered their time to go shopping with two families, which were not going to have much of a Christmas, due to unfortunate financial circumstances.

Erich Schoen with Tangent Fire and Rescue says the families were taken Christmas shopping at the local Target store in Albany. The participating families were pre-screened by a local agency to insure eligibility. Each family had approximately $400 dollars to spend on each other.

Driver Flees Fatal Hit and Run Crash

Police are looking for a dark colored Chevy S10 or Blazer type vehicle that should have extensive damage.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Hit and Run A pedestrian was struck by a motor vehicle last night in the 12000 Block of Silverton Road. Marion County Sheriff's Deputies responded to the area at midnight when 911 began receiving calls about the incident.

Sergeant David G Cornforth with the Marion County Sheriff's Office says witness who stopped to assist a man down in the roadway reported seeing a dark colored Chevy S10 pick up or Blazer type vehicle leaving the scene west bound on Silverton Road.

Fire-Safer Cigarette Credited for Saving a Life in Oregon

Oregon is the 9th state in the nation to set aside tobacco manufacturers arguments that safer-cigarette technology was unproven.

(TIGARD, Ore.) - Safer cigarette artwork State fire officials say a Tigard nursing home avoided potential tragedy recently when a fire-safer cigarette self extinguished after a resident fell asleep while smoking.

Oregon Governor Kulongoski signed Oregon's safer cigarette legislation in April, requiring only fire safer-cigarettes be sold in Oregon beginning January 1st 2008.

War Protester Granny Verdict Expected Today

Is it free speech or the road to terrorism?
