Stolen Car Pursuit and Arrests Leaves Two Police Cars Damaged

The suspects arrested may be connected to a rash of commercial burglaries in Milwaukie.

(MILWAUKIE, Ore.) - Milwakie, Oregon commercial burglary and stolen car suspects Kevin Michael Lasiter and Robert Lee Wingfield Police say a fleeing van tried to ram police vehicles during a chase in Milwaukie early this morning, and actually caused minor damage to one of the vehicles after striking it.

Another police vehicle's tires were damaged after running over spike strips, which were placed in an attempt to stop the pursuit, according to Officer Kevin Krebs, a Spokesman for Milwaukie Police.

Oregon Broadcaster Makes Questionable Statements over Keizer Medical Marijuana Case

As police try to publicly undermine the wishes of Oregon voters with opinionated statements about Medical Marijuana, an Oregon broadcaster jumps right into the melee by publishing damaging, false statements about one man's character.

(SALEM, Ore.) - armed officers A story published this week by Portland television station KATU appears to carry with it a slanderous remark about a Keizer man who was recently arrested over his marijuana growing operation, that was legal.

They claim that Anthony Beasely "is another convicted felon and certified medical marijuana grower." Wrong. Beasely has not been convicted of a drug offense.

Police Seek Suspect in Credit Union Robbery

According to the employees, there was no mention of a weapon and no weapon was observed.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Robbery investigation The FBI and Marion County Sheriff's deputies are investigating a robbery that happened today at the Central Willamette Community Credit union, 852 Lancaster Dr SE.

Bank employees told investigators that at 2:14 PM, a white male, approxilately six feet tall, with a mustache and in his forties, entered the bank wearing a gray hooded sweat shirt and sunglasses.

Several Agencies Assist in Woodburn House Fire

This was the third structure fire in the last 12 hours Woodburn Fire responded on.

(WOODBURN, Ore.) - Fire in Woodburn, Oregon, 11-23-07 A house in Woodburn was a total loss after an intense fire this morning. Fortunately there were no injuries. Woodburn's Fire District was called into action at 8:39 AM and was soon on scene at 16280 Pudding River Road.

The first arriving firefighters found heavy fire coming from the front of the structure, according to Lt. Darin Unrein with Woodburn Fire. A transitional attack was used to begin extinguishing the fire from the exterior and work to the interior.

Police Looking for Suspects in Ontario Home Invasion Robbery

Anyone with information regarding the suspects is asked to contact Oregon State Police Southern Command Center dispatch at (541) 889-6468.

(ONTARIO, Ore.) - Ontario, Oregon Home Invasion suspects Rocky Vitale and Zachariah Vitale Oregon State Police are looking for two men who were involved in an early Thursday morning home invasion robbery at a rural residence south of Ontario.

The two identified suspects may possibly be armed and should be considered dangerous, according to Lieutenant Richard Pileggi with Oregon State Police.

Envoy Says UN Needs to Strengthen its Mission in Myanmar

While in Singapore, the Special Envoy has been meeting with regional leaders who have gathered for the annual summit of the Association of South-east Asian Nations (ASEAN).

(RANGOON, Myanmar) - Ibrahim Gambari The United Nations Special Envoy for Myanmar said today that the good offices role of the Secretary-General would need to be “beefed up in terms of its effectiveness,” in case dialog between the Government and the opposition in the troubled South-East Asian nation intensifies.

“The Myanmar authorities have said that they preferred to work with the UN. Now we have to test that to its limits in the high interest of the Myanmar people,” Ibrahim Gambari told reporters in Singapore.

Coquille Man Killed in Crash on Oregon Coast

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

(COQUILLE, Ore. ) - coast crash A Coquille-area man died Wednesday morning when his car drove across the centerline and collided head-on with another vehicle on Highway 42 east of Coquille.

The other driver received non-life threatening injuries in the crash that closed the highway about two hours.

Kennedy was assassinated on November 22, 1963, at 12:30 PM CST, in Dallas, Texas. Lee Harvey Oswald was arrested in a theatre about 80 minutes after the assassination, and was charged with the crime, but was murdered two days later by Jack Ruby before he could be put on trial.
