Child Porn Investigation Leads to Arrests Over Animal Abuse

Police serving a search warrant for child porn say they found 24 neglected dogs, and 8 more dead in the freezer.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Salem Police detectives responded to 4345 Vernon Loop NE in Salem today shortly before 1:00 PM, to serve a search warrant involving a child pornography investigation.

Salem Police Lt. Jim Anglemier says that immediately upon entering the residence, the detectives found what they described as unfit living conditions. Inside the residence Anglemier says, 24 Poodles were found running loose or in cages.

Toppled Trees, Landslides Force Trail Closures at Silver Falls State Park

Although, visitors are not able to hike the loop in its entirety, all waterfalls are still viewable.

(SILVERTON, Ore. ) - A short section of Silver Falls State Park's Canyon Trail and all trails in the south side of the park will remain closed this weekend in the aftermath of a windstorm that toppled trees and created mini-landslides there earlier this week.

Approximately three quarters of a mile of the Canyon Trail, between its intersection with the Maple Ridge Trail near Lower South Falls and its intersection with a spur leading to Double Falls, sustained serious damage from fallen trees.

US Airways Plane Headed to Vegas Diverted to Portland
