Firewalker Asks Public To Join Him in Support of California Fire Victims

Trever McGhee has spent the last two years and more than $100,000 of his own supporting others through his firewalks.

(CALGARY) - firewalk If someone challenged you to walk on fire to help others, how far would you go? Trever McGhee walked 389 record setting feet to support charity on July 7th of this year, breaking his prior Guinness World Record™ of 294 feet.

This time, he wants other people to join him and be part of the Guinness World Records™ Annual Challenge to the world between November 6th-12th.

One Dead After Boat Sinks Off Oregon Coast

Neither man was wearing a personal flotation device.

(MANZANITA, Ore.) - coast guard One man is dead and another was rescued after their boat sank off the Oregon coast near Manzanita Thursday night.

The Coast Guard says they received word that an 18-foot pleasure craft with a 66-year-old male and a 48-year-old male had capsized south of the Nehalem Bay South Jetty and were in need of assistance.

U.S. Unemployment Rate Unchanged at 4.7 Percent

The October employment gains were widespread, with notable increases in architectural and engineering services and in management and technical consulting.

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) - employment image Nonfarm payroll employment rose by 166,000 in October, and the U.S. unemployment rate was unchanged at 4.7 percent.

Job gains continued in professional and business services, food services, and health care. Manufacturing employment continued to decline, while construction employment was little changed over the month.

(SALEM, Ore) - flag half staff Oregon Governor Ted Kulongoski has ordered all flags at public institutions be flown at half-staff throughout Oregon on Saturday, in honor of Army Sergeant Joshua Charles Brennan who was killed in action in the Korengal Valley of Afghanistan.

Brennan, 22, of Ontario, was a member of the 2nd Battalion, 503rd Airborne Infantry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team stationed in Vicenza, Italy.

Hard wind and low visibility, two of any pilot's biggest obstacles, have no effect on this plane. The tracking system accounts for every degree of physics applied by mother nature.

Body in Keizer May be Transient

Investigators have not classified this as a suspicious death, but they say criminal acts have not been ruled out.

(KEIZER, Ore.) - Death investigation Keizer Police officers are investigating a dead body that was discovered around 1:30 PM in the 3500 block of Cherry Avenue NE today. Police Spokesman Jeff Kuhns says Salem Police were initially called out to investigate, but the case was handed over after it was determined that the location was actually Keizer.

Kuhns says the body was discovered by a citizen who was in this area walking her dog.

Giusto Says Newspaper`s Conclusion That He Lied is False

Though he didn't initially plan to make a statement, Sheriff Bernie Giusto says it is necessary now.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Bernie Guisto`s statement Multnomah County Sheriff Bernie Giusto says a Portland newspaper's conclusion that he lied” about his knowledge of Neil Goldschmidt'’s sexual abuse of a minor female in the 1970’s is not true. Giusto says other media outlets were soon repeating the same story.


The DPSST is investigating whether he may have violated moral fitness standards for Oregon public safety officers.
