Oregon Will Appeal Return of Molalla Deer to Family

The deer have been in the news over the last several weeks, it looks like a victory for the family could be short lived.

(SALEM, Ore.) - black-tail deer Attorney General Hardy Myers today announced that the State of Oregon will appeal yesterday’s Clackamas County Circuit Court ruling that the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife must return a deer to a Molalla couple.

Myers says Oregon statutes provide that no one other than ODFW, or one of its licensees, may lawfully possess wildlife, including deer.

The presence of the DEA has caused Oregon law enforcement to turn a deaf ear to the voice of the people.

(LINCOLN CITY, Ore.) - Police pullover I guess it could be difficult; spending your life as a law enforcement officer, and having to turn away from what you have always perceived to be a crime, that is the use of marijuana. "Suck it up" is what they used to tell us in the Marine Corps when we had to deal with a rule we didn't like, the same applies here.

More Warm Weather Headed for Southern California Fires (VIDEO)

Warmer will return Monday but weather experts say the winds should not increase.

(SAN DIEGO) - Firefighters in San Diego County will see warm weather return A light offshore flow is expected to bring Southern California more warm weather and low humidity, it's not good news for the wildfires that have been burning for several days.

Western Expert Meteorologist Ken Clark with AccuWeather.com says winds will be light and localized, unlike the hurricane-force Santa Ana winds that fueled the deadly wildfires earlier this week.

Beaver Nation Asked to Help California Wildfire Victims

“This tragedy has affected many, many people, including some of our very own student-athletes and staff,” Director of Athletics Bob De Carolis said.

(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - Sean Canfield The Oregon State University Department of Athletics is asking “Beaver Nation” to help those affected by the wildfires in Southern California by making a donation at this Saturday’s game at Reser Stadium against the Stanford Cardinal. Kickoff is slated for 3:35 PM.

Monetary donations will be accepted at Fan Fair, located at Parker Plaza, and at the Reser Stadium gates from 1:30 - 4:00 PM.

Oregon Father Arrested on Child Abuse Charges

Police said none of the children required medical attention.

(STAYTON, Ore. ) - jail hands Stayton Police arrested a 37-year-old father of five after an investigation revealed he had attempted to choke one of his children.

Lieutenant Rich Sebens says officers responeded Tuesday with Department of Human Services to 9874 Golf Club Rd in Stayton on a report of a physical child abuse. After investigating, James Forsythe was arrested for Strangulation by choking one of his children, Assault IV, Reckless Endangering, and Criminal Mistreatment I.

At Least 56 Firefighters Injured in California Wildfires

Evacuation Order have been issued For the Communities of Lawson Valley and Carveacre.

(SAN DIEGO) - Fire in San Diego County At least 56 firefighters have been injured so far in the wildfires that have devastated parts of Southern California. The Witch Fire has the highest number of injuries, 22 have been reported so far.

As the injuries mount, the Harris Fire in San Diego has placed new neighborhoods under Evacuation Orders, after jumping a portion of Lake Barrett. Fire officials say it is now an immediate threat to life and property to the communities of Lawson Valley and Carveacre.

The Oregon National Guard recognizes that nearly 37 percent of its returning veterans are under or unemployed and 90 percent want college education and job training for their families.‏

(SALEM, Ore.) - All too common in Iraq: this Humvee was driven by a soldier named Travis Sigfridson.  It was exploded by an IED in June 2004 His humvee had been blown to pieces, a mangled mess shattered by an improvised explosive device. His driver was dead. His gunner was seriously wounded, and Sgt. 1st Class Vince Jacques dangled upside down with his legs trapped under the dashboard.

But on that fateful day, July 28th 2004 in Iraq, despite his own injuries, Jacques had only one thing on his mind; his soldiers, "his boys".
