Oregon Pilots Assist in Missing Person Search‏

The missing hunter is reported to have medical problems and is believed to be driving a red 1994 Chevy pickup truck with a red camper shell.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Oregon' Wing of the U.S. Civil Air Patrol is assisting the Crook County, Oregon Sheriff in the search for a missing 47-year old male hunter who has been missing in the Ochoco National Forest since Thursday.

They have stopped operations at this point, "but will bring in four aircraft on Sunday to assist the Crook County Sheriff in the search, Lt Col. Thomas Traver, the Oregon CAP public affairs officer said. "This will bring to a total of 20 CAP personnel involved in this search effort."

Ron Naso is Oregon`s Superintendent of the Year

Naso has been superintendent of North Clackamas Schools, which serves 17,300 students, since 1995.

(CLACKAMAS, Ore.) - The Coalition of Oregon School Administrators has been named North Clackamas Superintendent Ron Naso Oregon Superintendent of the Year. The award will be presented on October 24th at the North Clackamas Chamber of Commerce Leadership Luncheon.

"Ron is an effective leader, and we're very fortunate to have him in the North Clackamas District," said School Board Chair Lee Merrick. "Over the past twelve years, Ron has put in a lot of effort to improve the education of tens of thousands of students."

Fifth Arrest in Assault on Milwaukie Juvenile

Police located the fifth suspect in the attack Friday arresting the man after spotting him in the transit center in Milwaukie.

(MILWAUKIE, Ore.) - Milwaukie Police have been investigating an assault with a weapon that took place Thursday night at 8:30 PM in Dogwood Park, in the 2000 block of SE Lake Road.

A 17-year-old male juvenile reported that he had been assaulted by 5 suspects while at the park. Four of the suspects were arrested and charged.

One Dead in Overnight Shooting

Deputies later received information that two potential shooting victims were reported to have arrived at two area hospitals.

Oregon Introduces Tax Credit to Donors Supporting University Research

As of this week participating universities are ready to award tax credits for gifts to the fund.

(PORTLAND, Ore. ) - A 60 percent income tax credit is now available to Oregon taxpayers who contribute to a new program designed to fast-track commercialization of research discoveries at Oregon’s eight public universities.

Sen. Frank Morse, R-Albany, who championed the legislation, said donations will create an “evergreen” endowment to foster innovation because universities will repay the state for claimed tax credits with income from royalties and licensing fees.

Salem Fire Holds Annual Open House
