Police Release Identity of Oregon Murder Victim

Police want to talk to anyone who saw Misty DeVaney anytime from Thursday afternoon through Sunday morning.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Multnomah County Detectives are trying to learn what happened to a 25-year old Caldwell, Idaho woman named Misty Lavon DeVaney, who was murdered and discovered last Sunday near Highway 30.

Misty DeVaney arrived in Portland on the afternoon of Thursday August 2nd, 2007, having traveled from Caldwell Idaho by Greyhound Bus.

KWVT is nos on it’s new “analog” channel 17 located in the West Salem hills, says KWVT General Manager Ken Lewetag.

Missing Couple and Grandson Enroute to Oregon Coast Found Safely

Police call it a happy ending. At approximately 8:15 PM, the missing couple, Mr. and Mrs. Brosnahan, were watching the news and discovered that they were presumed missing. They immediately contacted their family. They and their grandson are all fine.

(OREGON CITY) - A missing couple and their five-year old grandson believed to be missing are safe and sound. Their daughter, the mother of the small child, had called them in missing yesterday.

Hillsboro Police Nab Suspect in Robbery of Woman and Young Child

Police say they caught the man in possession of the stolen cash.

(HILLSBORO, Ore.) - Hillsboro Police responded to a robbery call Wednesday that involved the robbery of a woman who sells small amounts of produce. It happened at 9:00 PM at the intersection of 14th avenue and Walnut Street.

Police say the victim, 33-year old Luz Maria Calderon-Ayala, was selling produce from a small produce truck at the location with her 3-year old daughter present.

Two Marines Cleared in Haditha Case

The charges were dismissed after a review of the facts in the case.

(LOS ANGELES ) - Two Marines arrested in connection with the 2005 deaths of 24 unarmed civilians in Iraq have been cleared.

Marine Lt. Gen. James Mattis announced that the charges would be dropped in a statement issued today.

Capt. Randy Stone and Lance Cpl. Justin Sharratt are among the 8 marines charged in the death of 24 men, women and children in the western Iraqi town of Haditha.

(NEW YORK) - The Dow Jones on Thursday suffered its second worst session of 2007, on worries about the global credit market sparked a broad selloff in stocks, following a three-session rally.

The Dow Jones industrial average was down 387.18, its biggest one-day point loss since Feb. 27th, when it plunged 416 points on worries about a global growth slowdown.

The Dow's decline Thursday equaled a loss of 2.8 percent.

Yakima Bears Player Arraigned in Salem Rape Case

The charges stem from the victim being unable to consent to sexual activity due to her age and not due to force.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - A Yakima Bears baseball player arrested for rape while playing the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes last month, was arraigned Thursday on an indictment from a Marion County grand jury.

21-year-old Norman Joel Melendez-Ramos, is charged with one count of rape and two counts of sodomy.

Melendez-Ramos allegedly met the 15-year-old female victim following the baseball game at Volcanoes Stadium on Tuesday, July 24th.
