Recovery of Oregon Teen`s Body Ends Four Days of Searching

The Sheriff's Office told relatives they would continue the search operations until Zacharey was brought home to the family.

(DALLAS, Ore.) - The body of a local teenager missing since Tuesday and presumed to have drowned in the Willamette River, was found this morning at approximately 8:20 AM.

Polk County Sheriff's Office Spokesman Dean Bender says their Marine Patrol Unit was notified by a citizen that a body was floating in the river about three to four miles up river from Wheatland Ferry.

Love Welcomes All in Oregon is a Response to Anti-Gay Group`s Presence

Oregonians hold supportive event in response to out-of-state anti-gay group's "Love Won Out" Conference.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Religious leaders, survivors of the "ex-gay" movement, PFLAG members (Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays) joined together today for Love Welcomes All, an interfaith prayer vigil and PFLAG meeting meant to bring a welcoming message. The event was held in response to the anti-gay group Focus on the Family's "Love Won Out" Conference in Portland.

"Our message is one of love, acceptance and hope," said Rev. Tara Wilkins, Executive Director of the Community of Welcoming Congregations. "Our Christian churches denounce the notion that one has to change God's gift of sexuality. It is messages like those of the Love Won Out program that divide families, cause alienation, and all too often lead to suicide in those who feel they can never conform to the standard of self-denial."

(KEIZER, Ore.) - The Keizer Police are investigating a burglary that occurred at McNary High School, 595 Chemawa Road North, at about 2:00 AM Saturday morning.

Police Spokesman Capt. Jeff Kuhns says the investigation has led to the arrest of five male juveniles that investigators believe conspired to steal chemicals from the school's science classrooms so they could make bombs.

Body of Missing Swimmer Located in Willamette River

(SALEM, Ore.) - Missing swimmer Zacharey Harle's body was located this morning on the Willamette river. Polk County Sheriff's Office Spokesman Dean Bender says deputies are on scene to recover the body.

Zacharey was swimming across the river Tuesday with his 17-year-old friend Alexander Klawuhn, when they got about halfway across and got into trouble.

5 Dead in Minneapolis Bridge Collapse; First Victims Identified

(MINNEAPOLIS) - Divers have resumed their search for victims hidden in the murky, swirling waters of the Mississippi River, in what authorities say will be a slow and dangerous recovery operation after the Interstate 35W bridge buckled and collapsed during the evening rush hour in Minneapolis on Wednesday.

The confirmed dead were identified as: 60-year-old Sherry Lou Engebretsen, of Shoreview, Minnesota; 32-year-old Julia Blackhawk, of Savage, Minnesota; 36-year-old Patrick Holmes, of Mounds View, Minnesota; and 29-year-old Artemio Trinidad-Mena, of Minneapolis.

Man Tries to Rape Female Jogger at Salem College

The suspect is described as a Hispanic Male, 25 years of age, with a medium build.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies are asking for the public’s help in locating a man who attempted to rape a woman Thursday night in northeast Salem.

Deputies say last night just after 10:00 PM, they responded to Chemeketa Community College on the report of an attempted rape.

The victim, a 26-year-old female, was jogging at the college's outdoor track.
