Two Teens Shot Sunday Night at Woodburn Park

(WOODBURN, Ore. ) - Woodburn police are investigating a Sunday night shooting at a Woodburn park that sent two teenagers to the hospital.

Woodburn Police say they were called to Silverton Hospital shortly after 9:00 PM Sunday after two teenagers, 14 and 15 years old, were admitted with gunshot wounds.

Oregon Soldiers Body Returns Home Today

Cpl. Kory D. Wiens, 20, of Independence, Ore. died July 6th of wounds sustained from an improvised explosive device while on patrol in Muhammad Sath, Iraq.

(DALLAS, Ore. ) - The body of Army Corporal Kory Wiens will arrive at Corvallis Municipal Airport today at about 11:15 AM.

A procession will follow to Dallas Mortuary Chapel, 287 SW Washington St. Dallas, Ore.

The public is welcome to attend the arrival and participate in the procession.

Oregon Senator: Transition U.S. Forces to Fight Terrorists, Not Civil Wars

Senator Gordon Smith is lead Republican in effort to transition U.S. troops.

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) - Oregon Senator Gordon Smith became the lead Republican co-sponsor behind an amendment in the Senate that would put U.S. troops on a glide path out of Iraq, allowing for greater focus on combating terrorists.

The amendment to the Defense Authorization Bill calls for a troop reduction to begin 120 days after enactment with troop withdrawal by the spring of 2008.

(AURORA, Ore. ) - At the direction of Oregon Emergency Manegement,The Oregon U.S. Civil Air Patrol announced Sunday that they would be restructuring the eight day long search for missing Portland pilot, Courtland Mumford.

The retired airline pilot was believed to have been making local familiarization flights in his recently purchased Cub Crafters Sports Cub aircraft last Saturday, July 7th, out of Aurora Airport.

The report also shows a national foreclosure rate of one foreclosure filing for every 704 U.S. households for the month.

Lebanon Teen Seriously Injured in Motorcycle Crash

No enforcement action has been taken at this time.

(SWEET HOME, Ore. ) - A female passenger on a motorcycle was seriously injured Saturday night and the male operator received non-life threatening injuries after he lost contol of his motorcycle and crash one mile west of Sweet Home on Highway 228.

At approximately 4:50 PM, a 2004 Honda motorcycle operated by 21-year-old Tyler Hannen, from Sweet Home, was westbound on Highway 228 near milepost 20.

According to witnesses, the motorcycle passed at least one vehicle in a no-passing zone on a curve.

UPDATE: Keizer Man Dies After Being Saved from Burning Car

The driver, 55-year-old Stephen M. Janes from Keizer suffered burns to over 80 percent of his body.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - On Saturday just after noon, Marion County Sheriff's Office Deputies responded to 7105 Hazelgreen Rd. NE. for a report of a single vehicle crash that had caught fire.

Marion County firefighters responded to the location and extinguished the flames while the lone occupant/driver remained in the vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle was extricated and taken by LifeFlight to the burn center at Emanual Hospital in Portland.

Fire Destroys West Salem Home

The cause of the fire was an electrical malfunction.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - On Saturday at 1:56 PM, a first alarm assignment (3 Engines, Ladder Truck, Medic Unit and Battalion Chief) responded to an Structure Fire at 3386 Champlain Drive NW.

Enroute firefighters could see a large column of smoke coming from the area, a second alarm was called bringing more firefighters and equipment to the scene.

When firefighters arrived on scene, the front portion of the home and the front yard was fully involved with fire.

Family Vacation Turns into a Nightmare on Oregon Coast

The boys parents went into a store for groceries at about 5:00 PM, and when they came out of the store, both of their sons had been swept into the ocean.

(NESKOWIN, Ore.) - Coast Guard and other emergency units are searching the Oregon coast near Neskowin, Ore., today for signs of a teenaged boy who was swept out to sea Friday afternoon.

An HH-65 helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Facility North Bend, the crew of a 47-foot motor lifeboat from Station Depoe Bay and local fire department crews are searching the waters near Nestucca Beach for signs of the missing boy.
