Man Drowns After Jumping Off Bridge Near Sweet Home

Deputies said the man and his friends had been drinking prior to the drowning.

(SWEET HOME, Ore. ) - File photo A 40-year-old Halsey man died late Saturday night after jumping from a 70-foot bridge and drowning near Sweet Home.

Linn County Sheriff’s Deputies say Gregory Aaron Culver drowned after doing a back flip off Rocky Top Bridge near Quartzville Road, about 20 miles from the junction of Quartzville and Highway 20 east of Sweet Home.

Woman Seriously Hurt After Collision with Horses on Highway

Three people were injured, four horses died as a result of the crash.

(PROSPECT, Ore.) - Crash investigation A Redmond-area woman was seriously injured Friday night when her van struck several horses on Highway 62 near Prospect.

Police say they had already dispatched troopers to the area over a report of 40 horses in the roadway, but the crash happened prior to their arrival.

Four Hour Search Ends in Arrest on Oregon Coast

At one point the man entered a local residence naked and asked for a towel.

(RHODODENDRON, Ore.) - Brad Heincke A Gladstone-area man was arrested Saturday after eluding police for almost four hours. They say it began during a traffic stop, the suspect ended up jumping in the river in an effort to escape.

Oregon State Police Lieutenant Gregg Hastings says troopers and Clackamas County Sheriff's deputies eventually arrested 43-year old Bradley Phillip Heincke on numerous charges.

Four Die in Crash on Highway 26 East of Sandy

Two 11-year old boys in the crash were youth baseball teammates enroute to a tournament.

(SANDY, Ore.) - crash scene Police say two adults and two children were killed and seven others injured Saturday morning in a three-vehicle crash on Highway 26 about six miles east of Sandy.

State Police Spokesman Greg Hastings says around 8:30 AM, a Dodge Caravan was westbound on Highway 26 in the left lane going uphill when it crossed into the westbound lanes.

7,000 Marijuana Plants Raided in Lake County

The team also found two handguns and one rifle at the location.

(LAKEVIEW, Ore.) - Marijuana plant A total of 7,459 marijuana plants 2-4 feet in height were seized today in a multi agency operation in Lake County.

Twenty five officers from state, county, city and federal agencies teamed to raid the suspected outdoor marijuana grow site about 8 miles northwest of Lakeview.

Experts say these rip currents are more common than rare, and can at times be deadly.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Boater on Willamette River in Salem, Oregon It is now the responsibility of boat owners to get their vessels free from sand bars or other problems on the Willamette River and back to the docks in a non-emergency situation.

It’s becoming a common scene on the Willamette River in Salem and the mid-Willamette Valley.

Fire Halts Traffic in Eastern Oregon

There are no reported injuries at this time and no estimates of property damage or evacuations.

(JOHN DAY, Ore.) - Fire engine lights US Highway 20 is closed to all traffic between mile points 134.4 - 189, due to fire in the area near the highway's intersection with the John Day and Burns Highway, US Highway 395.

Officials with the Oregon Department of Transportation are asking motorists to use alternate routes if passing through this section of Oregon.

Two Arrested After Illegal Fireworks Start Brush Fire in Willamette National Forest

The illegal fireworks were reported to have been purchased in Vancouver, WA.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - fire investigation image The Marion County Sheriff's Office arrested a juvenile and and an adult male on arson and possession of illegal fireworks charges.

Deputies say the two had been swimming at 3 Pools Recreation Site in the Willamette National Forest and were driving south bound on Little North Fork Rd.

The juvenile passenger began shooting Roman Candles out the vehicle window which caused a brush fire along the roadway near Salmon Falls County Park.
