Alcohol, Heat and Argument Led to Stabbing, Police Say

Investigators encourage anyone with information concerning the suspect of the incident to contact the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office.

(CLACKAMAS, Ore.) - A stabbing occurred on the Clackamas River near High Rocks at around 5:00 PM. "The stabbing occurred over an argument," says Sergeant Lee Eby with the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office. "With both parties being intoxicated."

He says the suspect fled the scene after stabbing 24-year old Jason Bills of Milwaukie.

In a paper scheduled for fall publication in the Journal of Sports Science, Oregon State University Professor Melinda Manore and two co-authors – OSU doctoral student Lynn Cialdella Kam and Ohio University Professor Anne B. Loucks – call for comprehensive screening of athletes and active females to detect energy deficits and eating disorders, as well as wider education about a syndrome that too often goes undetected.

Drowning Victim Rescued on Molalla River

A family member and two others went into the water to retrieve the man and brought him to the shore.

(MULINO, Ore.) - A family member and a pair of good Samaritans pulled a drowning man from the waters of the Molalla River Thursday evening. Then they sustained the 20-year old, and began CPR with instructions from a dispatcher.

Clackamas County Sheriff's deputies responded to the drowning call at the Wagon Wheel Park in Mulino at 7:00 PM, over a report that a Hispanic male began swimming across the Mollala River when he apparently became tired and went under the water.

Stabbing Suspect in Attempted Murder Case Arrested in California

(OREGON CITY) - The suspect in a stabbing from Wilsonville, Oregon that happened on June 11th has been arrested in Fresno, California on attempted-murder charges.

Oregon authorities considered 19-year old Jason Earl Nelson a fugitive. He was taken into custody by Fresno Police at approximately 1:00 AM, July 5th.

Fireworks Blamed in Two Keizer Fires

No injuries were reported in the incidents.

(KEIZER, Ore. ) - Keizer Fire District crews responded to two fires that were caused by fireworks late Wednesday night and early Thursday morning.

The first fire was reported at 10:55 PM on July 4th at 4175 River Road North.

Firefighters found a bush burning at the Sherwood Arms Apartments.
