Axe Handle Wielding Half-Brother Arrested for Assault in Wilsonville

Preliminary information indicates that the victim and the suspects may have had a falling our over the distribution of proceeds from a local burglary.

(OREGON CITY) - A Wilsonville man was arrested by Clackamas County Sheriff's Patrol on Memorial Day for assaulting his half-brother with an axe handle while the victim brother was sleeping on a couch; then forcing him to go to a remote location along Grahams Ferry Road.

The axe handle believed to have been used in this attack was discarded by the suspect in this isolated area, and later recovered as evidence by Clackamas County Sheriff's Office patrol investigators.

Portland Female Homicide Suspect Alive After Self-Inflicted Gunshot Wound

It began early this morning when Portland Police responded to a report of a man down. Responding officers found the body of a 36-year old adult male.

(REDMOND, Ore.) - A female suspect in a Portland-area homicide investigation is reportedly still alive Wednesday morning after she shot herself in front of officers attempting to negotiate her surrender in Redmond.

Initial reports that the suspect died were erroneous and she was airlifted to a Bend-area hospital with a critical head wound. Her name is being withheld at this time.

President Bush Confronts Immigration Reform Bill Skeptics

(GLYNCO, Georgia ) - President Bush discussed the Bipartisan Immigration Reform Bill at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Glynco, Georgia on Tuesday.

By making enforcement of immigration laws the highest priority and addressing all elements of comprehensive reform, the bipartisan immigration bill now under consideration by the Senate will help put an end to illegal immigration and keep the U.S. economy strong President Bush said.

More Oregon Army Guard Troops Headed to Iraq

Several 224 Soldiers were originally a part of the B-52 Engineer Co., which deployed to Iraq in 2003.

(ALBANY, Ore. ) - The Oregon Army National Guard has announced the second mobilization of the 224 Engineer Company based in Albany, Ore.

This marks the second deployment for this unit which prior to the Army's reorganization was Bravo Company, 52 Engineers which was one of the first units from Oregon to deploy to Iraq in 2003.

The ceremony will take place on Sunday, June 3rd at 1:00 PM at the Linn County Fairgrounds Exhibit Hall in Albany, Ore. The Linn County Fairgrounds is located at 3700 Knox Butte Rd.

(ROSEBURG, Ore. ) - Interstate 5 near milepost 119 south of Roseburg is CLOSED following a commercial truck crash in which a load of lumber has spilled blocking all southbound lanes.

Detour set up for southbound traffic to exit off at the Winston/Dillard interchange that will bring motorists back onto Interstate 5 at milepost 112.

Wayward Whales Just Miles from Pacific Ocean

On Tuesday evening the whales were spotted swimming about two miles from the Golden Gate Bridge.

(VALLEJO, Calif.) - The two wayward humpback whales that have spent the last two weeks in the Sacramento River Delta made huge progress toward the Pacific Ocean on Tuesday.

At 10:20 AM, the two wayward whales, nicknamed Delta and Dawn, traveled through the Carquinez Bridge and down south through San Pablo Bay and through the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge.

The pair needs to go about ten more miles to reach the Pacific, with that much distance left they could reach the ocean by Wednesday morning officials said.

The memorial exists for thousands, but it was inspired by the loss of Erik Kesterson. His parents, Clay and M.J. led the drive to build this tribute, which the first of its type anywhere in the nation.

Albany Residents Reminded About City RV Parking Ordinance

Vehicles found parked illegally will be marked by Albany police and must be moved within 72 hours.

(ALBANY, Ore. ) - As the summer travel season approaches, the City of Albany is reminding city residents of laws that apply to where recreational vehicles or travel trailers may be parked.

City ordinances allow motor homes, travel trailers, boats, fifth-wheel trailers, and other recreational vehicles to be parked on public rights-of-way for up to 48 hours with the consent of the adjacent property owner.

Without that permission, vehicles may not be stored on the street for more than 24 hours.
