Melamine Found in Fish Feed at Oregon Hatchery

Representatives from Skretting confirmed that the feed was sent to the Willamette, Gnat Creek, Big Creek, Cole Rivers, Butte Falls and Leaburg hatcheries.

(SALEM) - The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has confirmed the finding of melamine in fish feed at the Marion Forks Hatchery in Idanha, Ore.

The Marion Forks Hatchery manager had discontinued use of the feed, labeled as Bio Vita Starter, #1 crumble grade, lot # 32734, several days earlier when the FDA initially contacted them about testing the feed.

The #1 crumble grade of food is used as a starter diet for juvenile salmon and trout.

(SALEM ) - State Sen. Gary George (R-Newberg) is decrying the lack of compliance by some state agencies with Oregon's Public Records laws. The latest affront comes in an “agency bill” introduced to the legislature directly by the Oregon Dept. of Transportation.

Firefighters Rescue Contractor from Concrete Pit

Man Arrested in Connection with Burglary of Deputy`s Salem Home

(SALEM) - Police have been on the lookout for Martin Vargas, a suspect wanted in connection with an April 11th burglary of a Reserve Deputy's home.

Around 1:30 PM this afternoon, Vargas was taken into custody by Street Crimes Detectives from the Marion County Sheriff's Office, along with members of the Keizer Police Street Crimes Unit.
