Woman Dies in Head-On Collision Near Woodburn

The female driver of the Dodge Caravan was a resident of Salem.

(WOODBURN, Ore.) - Oregon State Police are investigating a fatal traffic crash that occurred Monday afternoon when a van crossed the centerline on Highway 99E south of Woodburn near Belle Passi Road and crashed head-on with a truck.

Crook County Man Arrested on Rape, Sodomy, Coercion and Domestic Assault Charges

The man's bail is more than two and a half million dollars.

(PRINEVILLE, Ore.) - A Crook County man was arrested by Oregon State Police with the assistance of Crook County Sheriff's Office Monday afternoon on multiple counts of rape, sodomy, coercion and domestic assault.

Oregon State Police say the investigation started two months ago when OSP was contacted by a local law enforcement agency related to information learned after the suspect applied for employment. Investigators are interested in talking to anyone who may have information regarding the suspect.

Early Season Recreation Looks Promising on Willamette Reservoirs

Heavy spring rain could secure the summer.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Most of the reservoirs managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in the Willamette Valley will be in good shape to host recreational boaters well into the summer season agency officials announced today.

Using the latest weather forecasts, however, the Corps is alerting boaters that some may not fill enough to sustain summer-long boating.

With a drier-than-average spring, it is unlikely that reservoirs will be full by Memorial Day weekend. However...

Crash Kills Willamina Man on Highway 18 East of Lincoln City

The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office, Crash Reconstruction and Forensic Technicians are responding to investigate this double fatal crash. Road closure for this section of SE 172nd can be expected to continue until approximately 6:00 PM.

(DAMASCUS, Ore.) - The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office is investigating a two vehicle crash with two fatalities at 14700 SE 172nd Avenue, in Damascus.

An elderly male and female couple were killed on impact, they were the occupants of a sedan that crashed with a flatbed truck along this section of SE 172nd that runs north and south.

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) - Citing serious ethics transgressions committed by a high-ranking Interior Department official, Julie MacDonald, U.S. Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR) announced today that he will place a hold on Senate confirmation of Lyle Laverty, the President’s nominee for Assistant Interior Secretary for Fish, Wildlife and Parks, until he is satisfied that such transgressions will not happen again.

In his letter to Interior Sey Dirk Kempthorne, Wyden references a recent report by the Interior Department’s Inspector General, Earl Devaney, which documents MacDonald’s actions as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Fish, Wildlife and Parks.

Police Make Arrest in Lincoln City Shooting

17-year old Hector Fernando Canales-Robles was arrested at 5:00 AM Monday by the Lincoln County Major Crimes Team.

(LINCOLN CITY, Ore.) - An armed robbery in Lincoln City at the Tanger Outlet Mall over the weekend left an 18-year old Lincoln City man, Ty Pederson, wounded in the face.

It happened Friday evening at the Springmaid-Wamsutta store. Pederson was injured when the suspect began firing during the robbery attempt.


Now Lincoln City Police say they have the man in custody that that pulled the trigger in custody.

(SALEM) - Governor Ted Kulongoski has signed a proclamation designating May 1st, as “Silver Star Day” in Oregon.
