Amnesty, Licenses, and Low Cost Vaccinations for Dogs in Marion County

Get your dog legal at this upcoming event.

(SALEM, Ore.) - dog licenses Marion County Dog Services will host an event offering dog licensing amnesty on late fees and license violations, as well as a low cost vaccination clinic from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, April 18th at the Sublimity Fire Station (115 NW Parker).

Low-cost vaccinations for dogs will be provided, and FREE rabies vaccinations will be offered to the first 250 who also purchase a second preventative vaccine.

The new rules to file claims directly impact Disabled Veterans

(WASHINGTON, DC) - Vietnam Veterans memorial The new rule eradicates the decades-old right of a veteran to write a letter to the VA, seeking a specific VA benefit and having the VA consider that letter as an informal claim.

The new rule changes require claims to be submitted on the VA’s standardized forms, which will impose barriers for all those without access to those forms, as well as those without the medical and legal knowledge needed to fill them out correctly.

Sentencing of Drake Carson Related To Pursuit Fatality

This teenage driver from Marion County faced multiple charges for the January 26th, 2015 traffic crash that left one person dead.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Fatal crash outside Salem Today, Drake Alan Douglas Carson, 17, pled guilty to Manslaughter in the Second Degree, Assault in the Third Degree, and Attempting to Elude a Police Officer.

After accepting the plea, the Honorable Cheryl Pellegrini sentenced Carson to a total of 84 months in the Department of Corrections, followed by 27 months of Post-Prison Supervision.

Lumber Truck Crash Creates Traffic Problems

Excessive speed appears to be a factor.

(SALEM, Ore.) - lumber truck crash A semi-truck carrying a load of lumber southbound on the Salem Parkway tipped over at Commercial St NE spilling its load.

Just after 3:00 PM, 46-year old Douglas Barnes, from Amity, was operating the 1985 Peterbilt pulling two flat bed trailers loaded with lumber. The truck rolled over as he was southbound on the Salem Parkway negotiating the curve onto Commercial St NE.
