Autopsy: Kim Died From Hypothermia, Exposure

Officials estimate that Kim traveled about 10.24 miles, but because of the route he took, ended up about 1.5 miles from the car.

(ROSEBURG) - Oregon State Police, Josephine County Sheriff's Office, and Jackson County Sheriff's Office want to thank the Kim family again for their support and kind words of appreciation regarding the search efforts to find James, Kati and their children.

In addition, we would like to thank the volunteers and agencies from around the area that provided their personnel and resources in support of the search efforts.

(KABUL, Afghanistan) - "Let's roll!" Vigilance is maintained around the clock at Camp Phoenix in Kabul, Afghanistan. The soldiers in this story are on one of the day's foot patrols that sweep the areas around the base.

These Army and National Guard soldiers will deal with any number of things during the next two hours, educating people and helping citizens maintain their safety and security.

Oregon State Vice-President Arrested on DUII, Assault Charges

Police said that John Cassady's blood alcohol content was 0.18 percent, more than twice the legal limit.

(CORVALLIS) - Oregon State University vice president for research John Cassady was arrested last month on drunken driving and assault charges after crashing his car into two of his neighbors' garages.

The 68-year-old was booked at the Benton County jail and charged with driving under the influence of intoxicants, criminal mischief, reckless endangerment and fourth-degree assault stemming from the Nov. 18th incident.

Woman, Man Arrested in Keizer ATM Robbery

29-year-old Jessica Caywood is being held at the Marion County jail on $100,000 bail.

(KEIZER) - Keizer police arrested a woman yesterday after she allegedly robbed another woman at an outside ATM at the Keizer MAPS Credit Union Tuesday night.

At about 9:00 AM Wednesday, the victim, 18-year-old Whitney Cathey, while driving through Keizer, spotted the suspect at a bus stop and called police.

She reported that suspect was wearing the same distinctive jacket she was wearing last night, the night of the robbery.

UPDATE: Missing California Father Found Dead In Oregon Wilderness

The news is heartbreaking not only for the family, but for the over 100 searchers who spent the last few days and nights looking for James Kim, and the thousands that have kept hope.

(MERLIN, Ore.) - The Oregon State Police has confirmed that at 12:03 PM the body of 35-year-old James Kim was located in the Big Windy Creek drainage area.

Kim had been leaving searchers clues as to his location.

The family issued this statement:

We want to send out our utmost thanks to the Search and Rescue teams who risked their lives in the efforts to bring James back to us, they are true heroes to risk their own lives for a stranger. Oregon Prescription Drug Program Enrollment Begins Thursday

The Governor said he pledges to push for further expansion of the program to private employers.

(SALEM) - Governor Kulongoski announced that Thursday is the first day that any Oregonian without prescription drug coverage is eligible to enroll in the Oregon Prescription Drug Program (OPDP), which is the state’s bulk-purchasing pool for prescription medications and offers savings up to 60% for uninsured citizens.

Measure 44 was enacted by the voters last month, removing previous age and income eligibility restrictions for OPDP.

“The increasing costs of health care and prescription medications are placing a real hardship on Oregonians who do not have health insurance with drug coverage,” Governor Ted Kulongoski said.

Donations Needed For Jefferson Firefighters Holiday Food Baskets

The food baskets will be assembled and delivered to needy families on the morning of Saturday, December 16th.

(JEFFERSON) - The Jefferson Volunteer Firefighters will once again be preparing and delivering food baskets to those in need living within our Jefferson and Millersburg communities.

Canned food donations as well as financial contributions are needed.

Last year approximately 80 baskets were prepared for delivery which included canned food, ham or turkey, and fresh vegetables.

James Kim Search Update: Searchers Find Clothing, Cut-up Map, Left by Missing California Father

The focus of the search continues to be the Big Windy Creek Drainage about 30 miles west of Grants Pass north of Bear Camp Road. A 5-mile long canyon and is about five miles from where the car was found.

(MERLIN) - Searchers plan to drop 18 rescue care packages Wednesday with warm clothing, emergency gear and food in hopes missing San Francisco man James Kim could find one and survive until rescuers can locate him.

Officials said the packages contain orange sweat shirts, wool blankets, flares, MRE’s, handwarmers, flashlights, gloves and a handwritten note from the family of James Kim.

Oregon State Police spokesman Lt. Gregg Hastings said during a morning press conference that searchers had found several items of clothing they believe were left by Kim as clues for rescuers.

Found were two gray long-sleeve shirts, a red short-sleeve shirt, a wool sock, a blue girls skirt, and an Oregon state map cut up in pieces.
